Kevin reacted to toms10 in Windfilled sails with silk span
Hi Markus16,
I am making sails using silkspan with a piece of paper in between. I was following the technique showed to me by another member. In hind sight, I think next time I might try either a another piece of silkspan instead of paper or just omit the middle ply all together. I will figure it out on the next model since all my sails are made and came out pretty good... especially for the first time. Check the link to my Leopard build. Page 11 has some general instruction on how it made them. I bought my silkspan here in the US from one of our sponsors, Bluejacket.

Kevin, I feel for you. You are even censored and confined at home... It is hard to be British, right now.

Kevin got a reaction from popeye the sailor in HMS Zulu 1942 & HMS Eskimo 1944 by RGL - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC
those resin bits look stunning, but like you said you are left with nothing to do other than paint and add, thats not so much a hobby, i suppose the fun bit would be designing your own, but that opens another can of worms doesnt it,
love the build

Kevin got a reaction from Blackreed in Phoenix by Kevin - Panart - 1/84 - Ex Amerigo Vespucci - restarted June 2020
good evening everyone
well most of the port side accommodation ladders are in, another couple of fittings to sort out and then paint then in relevant black or white
im struggling with the rung ladders, making them out off paper staples, getting them to look tidy and inline and as for the white painting to do the touch ups
i may take the white one back out redrill and paint them before placing on the hull
