HMS Lizard was a 24-gun sixth rate launched in 1697. 3D reconstruction based on the photo of original model from Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford.

The work is not finished (in progress)

Ok I first opened this post from the "view new content" area and didn't pay attention that it was the CAD area. I saw your model and though "gosh he just really went to town sanding so much you can't tell what it is made of. hahaha -  no it is made of 1's and 0's Absolutely amazing work and very realistic.

Very nice work! Thank you for the reference to sculptris, I had never heard of it before, I started playing with it after seeing your post.  Pretty powerful, for a free download.  It also exports nicely into Rhino.  Do you ever use Poser for a starting point for human figures?

Thank you , Bob!

Just I was looking for some Sketchup enthusiast, to share and learn more of this very useful tool for ship modeling.

Best regards,

That's just stunning Igor!

Looking forward to seeing more of this ("in 1s and 0s", as Sarah noted!).

I just noticed this discussion. So I am about a year late. What did you you use for your original plan? Just eyeballed from the pic's?

Drown you may, but go you must and your reward shall be a man's pay or a hero's grave

Sorry, I did not receive a notification in time.
I postponed this project, I was busy, but now I want to return to it
There are no original drawings. I used the drawings of HMS PEREGRINE GALLEY. The rest of the information from original model
