Le Mirage by Sjors - FINISHED - Corel - Wood - 1:75

The next build is gonna be the Aggy!

Wow, again a huge one.

Seen from the reactions the "Aggy" is something big, but this amateur has not a slight idea what you are talking about. Searching Internet for Aggy I indeed can find a model, but she definitely doesnot look like a ship. Please unveil this riddle.

J0hn,

I don't blame you that you can not find "Aggy"

It's a short name for Agamemnon

It's a kit from Caldercraft.

When you typ on the internet Caldercraft Model Kit, you can find her.

It's one from Nelsons Fleet.

Picture of her below.

Have checked out the build log of Mobbsie. Quite a project indeed, happily our winters appear to be getting longer and longer . .

Agammenon was Nelson's ship before he was given HMS Victory.  And I believe she was his favorite !

Sjors-  Appreciate the offer to stay over and we know it's genuine.  May be flying over your house in Sept. but can't bailout for a visit :(

Nice choice on the Agammenon, she's a fine ship and I'm sure you will do her justice. Myself I will be finishing my Longboat in the next few weeks while I wait for paint to dry on the Confed, as soon as she's out of dock #2, my scratch building career will begin on the Echo cross section.

I look forward to seeing you finish the Mirage.

Hi Ben,

With you I can have a serious conversation…...

The longboat is almost finished……nice to hear that.

And then you are moving to the dark side?

I will follow you close on that also.

With your skills you will bring that also to a great end.

When I look at your long boat and Confed I have all the trust in you!

And finishing the Mirage can take a while.

I measured the main mast and it's gonna be a long one….

And then all those ratlines…….

I think I rent a Monk for that  :)

If you don't know what I mean here is a little explanation for that.

When you have repeated work , we are calling that Monnikenwerk ( Monk work )

Thanks for dropping inn and take a cup of coffee and a pastry with whipped cream.

Yes yes, here comes an update  :D

If you thinking that I'm only joking, then you are wrong…..

In between I'm also building.

All de decorations are placed.

Also the lights on the back, but they are dry fitted.

That goes as last when the rigging is done.

I just want to show you how it looks.

I'll post 5 pictures at the time.

I think it looks better then I post 10 of them.

Enjoy!

Well, I guess I just have to say it.........you have outdone yourself.  The ornamentation is simply superb......even stunning.  And you've done a first rate job Sjors.  This is one of those moments to stand back, smile and be very proud of your efforts.  You have my congratulations.

Now, that being said, thanks for posting all those photos as I can now see that, even with guns bristling from both port and starboard, your dreadnaught would appear to be vulnerable from the stern.  In fact the lighting will make a superb target....rather like taking aim on a 70's Disco !  I shall make a mental note in the event of future conflict.

But VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!! :dancetl6:

Hi Sjors,

She's looking great.  Those stern decorations are quite something!

Patrick

Thanks Patrick,

I think the Mirage has to loose some pounds now…….

She's very heavy !

Hi Augie,

Thank you thank you and Dank je…...

I have my moment when I look at her when I take the pictures.

I'm very happy !

And I have to agree with you….

I have to put some music on, a few dancing girls and party time.

When you shooting at her and you missed then………you really need glasses!

But thanks again.

Sjors, your Mirage looks excellent! Now we just have to patiently await your masts and rigging. I'll be here for your next update.

Hi patrick,

Anja don't mind .

The only thing she is saying that i have to be on land when the ship sails…...

I hope that it not takes to long before I can do the rigging.

I just started on the bowsprit.

But I have also to make the canon port lids.

We will how quick it goes.

Commander Sjors, SIR! Admirable work on this fine vessel! She is a pretty thing to see, and what's that - did you bring her down to the kitchen?????

Well done - a beauty to behold.

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Funny cartoons….

Are they all that happy?

@Andy,

What do you find so disturbing…….

Those dancing people?

It is ( what Augie is saying) a disco vessel….

@ Frank,

Thanks for dropping inn.

No fear Frank, otherwise Anja is chasing me…...

And yes, I'm very happy with how she looks now.

On to the next challenge……bowsprit! And the other masts.

Sjors,

Spectacular build!  I'm just trying to catch up on things....we had been in a rental for March and are now camping in our new home unil the remodel starts...may take longer than the 3 months originally envisioned...we don't even have permits yet.......

Even with everything going on, i'll still be available as mediator if there is any hint of conflict.....but your armament probably will discourage it.

Cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Glad to hear from you!

You are now camping in your new house….

The start is there, in a few weeks you are settled?

It's time that you go back to the shipyard...

Thanks for the nice words  :)
