Le Mirage by Sjors - FINISHED - Corel - Wood - 1:75

Recommended Posts

Hi Wim,

I think everyone is looking forward to the rigging.

Specially when they don't have to do it  :D

It 's gonna take a few days before I'm in to that.

When i see this Augie, I run upstairs to see what's happened and It is an angle from the camera…..

animaatjes-sjors-94584.gif

You needed the exercise!

Take your time before rigging.  It's fun.  See all that empty space between the sticks?  Now you're going to fill it up !!!!

Augie

Augie,

You know how many times at the day I'm running upstairs??????

To many times…...

In one hour I go to work and have some rest…….

Just turning a steering wheel…...

Still the rigging take some time.

Much other stuff to do!

I have looked at the drawings for the rigging and maybe I skip that part  :D

I like open space...

@ David,

That's not a bad idea.

I send the Mirage on a world tour and everybody makes him/her contribution on the rigging.

Let see…..we have now 3374 members so I think that will work  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Who wanna be the first one?

Hi Popeye, Augie, Wim and Ben,

@ Popeye,

I don't send the Mirage around the world…..just a picture  :D

And I'm not doing what you are doing, I build two ships at the same time.

The Aggy is still not ordered.

When I do that there is somebody in the house that not let me do it.

The Aggy have to wait for a while……..

I think when I have that kit also, I'm working on three ships at the same time.

And I have no space anymore to build…...

@ Augie,  Is that your home address??????

@ Wim, There is always place for fresh blood!

@ Ben,

Sorry to hear that you can not help me  :(

I was counting on that!

Another dream felt into pieces…...

Before everybody thinks that I'm only talking a little something.

I make a few gunport lids and a few deadeye chains.

Also glued the closed lids at the stern.

There are no canons behind it!

Looks well Sjors. One (probably silly) question, no pins in the hinges ?

Thanks John, Patrick and Doris for dropping in,

@ John, good question…..

I have take a look at the drawing and only at the stern there are no pins in the hinges.

Strange…...

I have to see if I can change that.

Get it loose, drill holes and put the pins in it.

Thanks for the extra work!

@ patrick,

I know that everyone like to see pictures…….yes, I know, from the vessel and not me!

@ Doris,

Hello there  :D

It's not so clean as your beautiful vessels but Im happy with it.

And thanks, the fun part is yet to come…………tying ratlines! ;)

I think we need to start a countdown clock here...

Estimate the time to remaining before Sjors gets totally driven nuts by ratlines... although at the moment he seems to be evading the task at hand ;)

I say......by the time he gets to the main mast......

his right eye will start to twitch

his mood will start to pitch

and when he gets to the mizzen mast

he'll really start to itch.........THEN!

he will get to the second step.....and do it all again!

Looking amazing, Sjors - well done!  I'm with Andy - do we look at time or number of knots before he goes off the deep end and adds water skis to the ship?

I dunno there has to be some sort of co-relative algorithm that links time vs knots and probability, keep in mind.. he's got another monster waiting, so the likelyhood of an episode will increase with every knot tied, length of time it takes to tie one knot, number of shrouds, the number of knots that come undone...... and... oh I just gave myself a headache...

Anyway.. Mobbise you better be ready to take in refugees.. there might be a lot of them...

Nice addition with the hinges Sjors. I'm sure you can find a few more details to add to give you an excuse to delay your descent into Ratline purgatory!

@Andy & Grant,

I'm still looking for things that i can do before I have to start at the rigging…...

But no worries guy's,

I found a monastery that will give me a place to stay when i need some rest…..

John,

For you i have put pins into the hinges.

Now satisfied?  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Sjors, they are looking more realistic not hanging in the air. Yes Sir, I am satisfied.

John

Nice work!  Good to see some pics....thought you might just describe what you were doing and not post any more photos.... ;) ....

Hi Jim,

I want to describe only what i'm doing but when I do that I know that there are a lot of guy's who complaining about it!

So now and then a picture.

But the only thing they are doing is makes me funny…...

Do you know why??????

@ Augie,

I bring my Mirage to the zoo.

My house is not that big that I can have a fully load of bananas.

And in the meanwhile I not counting any knot or ratline…...

I'm have my hands full on the gun port lids…...

And that takes a while  :D

When the time is there to go on the rigging, I let you know.

@ Jim,

Is that answer your second question?  :D
