Hopefully between back and lathe I will be on the positive side of things by late next week.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from me also sir. Having battled with back issues when I was a younger man (due to a young man's stupidity and stubbornness), I am more than aware of just how debilitating it can be when something like this strikes. Give it time and let it heal thoroughly so you don't get a repeat "performance".

FYI the orthopedics people say I managed to fracture the last thoracic vertebrae, which explains the pain. They've put me in a back brace for four weeks, not sure how much I am going to get done as the pain is still pretty bad when I bend over or twist. On the good side, with someone else doing the heavy lifting I have my new lathe repaired and operational so it's ready to go when I am.

What a drag, Vossie. At least you know the reason for the pain and you're getting treatment. I can recommend some binge worthy TV shows/series if needed. :)

Thanks Keith :) Yeah I just need to be patient, not one of my strong suits. Send anything you got my way, I've watched a few series but I'm sure I'm missing some good ones!

Having been through something similar in the past, I can (quite literally!) feel your pain Vossie. I too wish you a speedy recovery. One TV series that we did enjoy was the Day of the Jackal (we watched it on Peacock). If you haven't seen it and can get Peacock I can highly recommend it.

Vossie, I just read about your injury.  I'm sorry to hear!  Your Lady Nelson work is beautiful, and I hope your recovery goes well so you can resume work!  Thanks for your words of encouragement and advice on my build log.  Rest up!  I recommend Line of Duty for binge watching!

Hi Vossie -

After your comment on my current build I went to yours and read your 8 year odyssey.  I have to applaud your perseverance and dedication in working through not only the many puzzles that we all have to solve in building a ship model, but in overcoming all the breakages and injuries, both mechanical and personal.  She will be a beautiful lady when you are done, and a source of immense and justified pride.   Congratulations.

Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery from your latest challenge.  Looking forward to following along in the future.
