Hi All,

Well I tried this before, but what the hay, let’s try it again. Same plane, same kit. Forewarning, I’m not as fast as the master on this card area forum and he has a gozillian years of card modeling time, I am a rank beginner, please bear with me. I also have probably too many other interests that do keep me occupied. Below is the kit and last year's attempt and all planes start with the cockpit, be they paper, plastic or wood.

Good luck, Dave!

I fixed the title for you and moved your log to the proper area. Interestingly, both the designer and publisher seem to have gotten the designation for this P-40 variant wrong -- sort of. The C variant was designated as the Tomahawk IIB in RAF service. I haven't built a kit from this designer (Paper AircraftWerks), so it will be interesting to see how his design philosophy compares to others who I'm more familiar with. BTW, for those new to card models, a repaint is when a graphic artist takes an existing design and applies new artwork to it. It's pretty common for digital download models from eCardmodels to be available in multiple liveries.

Cheers!

Chris, I suspected that and yes I see how common that is on the digital sites. With the advent of AI coming, software improvements etc., we could hope the kits would get exponentially better. That goes for all modeling mediums and types.

Tim Allen had a flying museum in Everett Wa and they flew warbirds all the time. From my vantage point at the Boeing Everett flight line, I got to see their P-40 fly many times, as well as a P-47, P-51, Hellcat, Bearcat, Zero, F-190 and more.

That's better than being a Supervisor of Flying at an Air Force Base when all the aircraft participating in an airshow show up. Many do arrival shows, especially the military flight demo teams. That only happened once a year.

Alrighty then, 14 days later, the cockpit is complete (the seat is just sitting there for good viewing). A total of 36 parts, YIKES, and we all know the minute I stuff this assembly into the fuselage most of it disappears and once the canopy is on, it’s all but gone. 😐 On to step 2.
