Ships boats have been installed and the paint touched up on the details. Then weathering. I think it’s a bit too much but I was after a North Atlantic convoy escort look and went a bit further than usual. Looking at some photos it may actually be typical. I doubt anyone was hanging over the side in a bosuns chair with a paintbrush in mid Atlantic.

Im calling this one finished and will now move onto the last of the three Tribals.

Mike, I’m a bit nervous about using ca glue for the tripod legs of the foremast. Soldering them gives a strong enough joint to allow a bit of tweaking if the spread needs adjustments before fitting. I think ca works well for the yardarms, @mikegr shows an effective looking way of using ca glue on masts.

What I like to do is run a thin needle with CA to add a good amount to hidden areas - interiors, etc.  Seems to work very well.  I’ve also done the same with two part epoxy.  I’m surprised you can solder such thin pieces of brass without destroying them - very impressive!

At some point I’ll have to learn to solder so that I can build up the GLS corvette class aftermarket.

Thanks Mike. I’ll try that technique with the ca glue. I was taught to solder as an apprentice at de Havilland over fifty years ago, some of it stuck but I was untidy them too

Weird, I had posted my last reply a while back but it got stuck.  Now I see you finished - really great job!  Quick build too!  Thanks for sharing with the group!

Thank you very much Mike. I’m learning my way around the Tribals.
