Starting a new build this afternoon.  It’ll be a slow build since I have another winter project going as well (finishing basement) so this one might take awhile, but will be enjoyable to build.

i plan on powering it so I can have it running around the room (at the ceiling) in the hobby workshop.

I took the liberty of editing your title for you, since no respectable Bay Area residents I know of call a San Francisco streetcar a trolley -- they are cable cars. 😉

That is so true. And the cable is running below the surface of the pavement and rails. A very clever and advanced design.

Little more progress today.  Been slow going but I'm also remodeling/finishing the basement at the same time so that takes priority over modeling.

Pictures show test fitting everything before I start on the "cabin" area (painting, windows, doors, etc.  Benches still need some touch up and finial coat of clear finish.

Been a pretty straight forward build - wish the picture directions were in English but with the text directions, I can follow and go by the pictures.

Working on the cable car today.  The one thing I will be doing before I go any farther is fill in the areas that you can see the tab and slot connections.  Will make the model look better when finished.  I don’t like seeing those on the sides of the car. 🤔🤔🥺

Got some work done before everyone wakes up this morning.  I’ll be doing the same as the sides fill the seams and repaint the ends even though there is a sign that will cover it, I’d like to have a smooth transition between the panels and hopefully the sign will lay down better than not doing anything at all.  We’ll see when that time comes.

Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend.  Wife and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary today (17 years) so no more modeling today😭😂😂.

Your build looks fantastic.  I think Occre does a great job on these street car and tram models.  Can't wait to continue following your progress.

The look on the box looks good,  black and white rails , one vote for making it look like the box. They seem to fade out when left brass, black and white stand out.

My opinion only,  great work.

I personally like the brass look because it draws your eye inside and not towards the railings.  Any other votes before it goes to the paint shop??

i couldn’t decide so if no more votes I’ll paint them.  I see what you mean and I was think too much paint already but it’ll look good either way.

How did the prototype do them? You would need a color photo of the car in San Francisco versus what the model company put on the box. It's your railroad, so do what floats your boat.

Started: MS Bounty Longboat,

On Hold:  Heinkel USS Choctaw paper

Down the road: Shipyard HMC Alert 1/96 paper, Mamoli Constitution Cross, MS USN Picket Boat #1

guess the real ones had painted railings.

And Canute you’re right my railroad do what makes you happy.  For now I like the brass,  after it’s all done I can still paint them if I wish but if I paint them and don’t like the way it came out, very hard to change it.

Thank you everyone appreciate your input but gut instinct I like the brass……. For now anyway.
