Very nice work. Are you adding sails?

Good morning Rich.Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comments.I'm not planning to add sails , because i feel that adding sails hides a big part of the details of the construction.

Regards

Dimitris

I like the contrast of the different colours in the masting and rigging.  Amazed that this is your first build.

Good morning Michael. Thank you for encouragement words. I had in mind to create the shape of the sails with the white thread. :)

Cheers

Dimitris,

Excellent work on the rigging and ship details. I like your white thread for the sails, they give a nice definition. She is a very nice addition to the Bluenose fleet. Well done.

Thank you very much Dave for visiting my build log and for your kind comments .I'll keep on updating the log.

That's some very tidy rigging Dimitris. Are those kit supplied blocks. They look good.

Hello Timmo, thank you for your kind words. Yes the kit of artesania latina supplies these blocks.

Greetings Dimitris, I am looking to get my first model, and yours was one of the suggested models.  Would you mind giving it a rating for a first timer?  Were the instructions clear?

Another ship I liked was the HMS Snake by Caldercraft, but I am concerned it may be a bit much for a first kit (http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/caldercraft_hms_snake.html)

Hello Guy,

Welcome to msw! In this forum you'll find information, techniques and solutions to anything you might encounter during your build.

As far as the Bluenose model is concerned, I would personally rate it as one of easy to medium difficulty (note that I am a beginner myself too). I would strongly recommend this ship for a first time build. The manual is easy to understand with clear instructions. Nevertheless should you find it difficult in any way, all forum members including me are willing to help you at any point. When I started this build i got a lot of help from the members of a Greek Forum and then i discovered msw.

Regarding Snake by Caldercraft i believe that it is probably a bit more complex. You could try that one after the Bluenose.

Feel free to ask anything you might need.

Kind regards,

Dimitris

Hello Dimitris, very nicely built and finished.  Being a beginner myself I think I made the right choice to build the Bluenose II as well.  I am learning a lot from it. I will be visiting your post as I go along with mine.

Very nicely done. If you soak the flag in water it will hang better, rather than stick out.
