New here to the forum although I signed up many years back but never posted anything so I will start with this one. Okay shipmates this is a out of production and lost forgotten kit manufacture of yesteryear. I obtained this kit in 1954 been working on her off and on for decades on end now its time to get her done. The hull is still being fitted out and I just completed the three mast assemblies these old Marine model kits are old school kits back in those days they give you everything but a display case back then I paid $14.95 a lot of money back in that day but well spent compared today.  Okay here are the pictures of what I have done thus far. I have a long way to go and it will all be posted here.

Here are some more pictures I been at this all day I painted and stained the mast got all of the deck fittings in place. The anchor has been installed going through the hause pipe via windless into the chain locker.I added two coats of varnish on the Galls roofs letting her dry over night next I will go to the chain plates all dead eyes are stropped and soldered when done I will add to the hull and she is ready for the rigging. A different build compared to whats on the forum a different kit she is and old.

hope everyone had a safe and wonderful thanks giving Day. Okay from the last update I have now installed all of the chain plates and dead eyes now I am working on the backing links to the stropps of the chain plates. Each and everyone of these assemblies have been soldered old school style For a 80 year old kit she is going together very well for me although not very popular here on the forum compared what on the forum but this is a old school kit for a old 75 year old dude. Next will be the completion of the chain backing links and she will be ready for the standing rigging.

She looks very nice and great work on her. I'm thrilled to see that you are getting around to finishing the model. It really deserves to be finished and displayed proudly. There are a few Marine Model kits that show up on ebay every now and then. They were a very good company back in the day.

Thank you Dear Sir for the comment this such a huge forum I had no idea how fast each of the builder threads rotate to the next page. I had second thoughts that I posted the wrong model here on the forum with no replies. your the first and I am honored. All of these models on my gallery were scratch built except my 1956 Sterling American Scout merchant man.. Mike stay tuned I have another update I have all of the backing links completed the mighty Charles Morgan is ready for the standing rigging. Thanks Mike

The Morgan makes into a fine model.  The good thing or bad depending on who you talk to is that it can be detailed to the extreme.  I remember one year at Manitowoc where the modeler brought in a model that was so detailed I took over a dozen photos for guys in my club. Very well made and heavily worked over.  I went through the build log and was amazed at what he added.  I applaud your enthusiasm in this build and may you capture Moby Dick.

Thank you for your reply As of now I am preparing for the standing rigging I am going back and doing some tune up and touch here and there before I proceed with the rigging. My hands left off this thing for 15 years or so. Now I am going back and go over where my hands left off. stay tuned Dear sir I have another update before the rigging starts.

Here is another update The model is now ready for its standing rigging all of the backing links have been installed to the hull and chain plates each and every backing link has two small tree nails nailed in to chain plates and the hull for strength exactly like the real vessel. I spent about 4 hours last evening for touch up work here and there no matter how great the builder is there is always a flaw somewhere un noticed by the builder himself. With all of the detailed that is compiled in to this kit is done with my Naked eyes no magnifiers here for my age of 75 this is a blessing and I am very Thankful for the stars above.

Very nicely done. I have a soft spot for this kit, since it was one of the first that I built over 40 years ago. My only concern is about the lead based fittings that were used in the old kits. Apart from the potential problems with handling them, they have a possibility of deterioration over time ( I know from experience ). If you have the lead deadeyes, I would substitute wooden ones for them.

Thanks dear sir for the reply and heads up  The dead eyes in the kit are made from lead and the rest of the fittings are white metal or lead I had no idea that they would deteriorate in time. All of the metal parts in the kit were primed with zinc Chromatic green and my fingers are crossed that they don't f deteriorate at my age it will be a long while probably be in Davy jones locker with a shot at my feet. A great kit Bob I had this kit since 1954 I got about every Marine model Kit they made in my stash all 1950s vintage. Thanks Bob for tuning in I am honored stay tuned for the standing rigging.

Thanks buddy these old school kits build very different compared what on the market for today most kits now days are engineered with new state of art building rendering the model builds its self. I love these old Marine model kits I cut my teeth on these old gems of yesteryear I inherited this kit from late father also a lot of the old Boucher and Lewis now Bluejacket ship crafters these kits go back as 192os. 17 kits in all My Charles Morgan was purchased in 1954 I was 14 years back then man does time fly. Stay tuned I have another update the standing rigging is completed. Thanks buddy for the comment.

All back and fore stays are completed leaving only the shrouds and running rigging. Last Saturday I received my new dead eyes from Bluejacket Ship Crafters.  The original lead dead eyes that came with the kit disintegrated in my hands threw th.em away I got new ones miles better I say. Okay here are the update pix next later on in the week I will post another update of the shouds.
