Gimo, I like the way you've bent up the deck beams. This seems a more positive way of imparting the required curvature to the beams. Bravo.

Hi gimo

Thanks for the like. Lookslike your using beech for the frames but Iam curious to know which other timbers you are using.....looks like walnut for the thick stuff and limber strakes. At your rate of progress you'll be finished before me!

Looking very good so far.

Cheers.....mick

Hi Mick,

first of all let me congratulate you for your outstanding build !.

About the timber (you are rigth), I’m using beech for the frames, linden for the deck and walnut for other stuff.

Additionanlly, I will use mahogany for the hull planking.

I have to admit, I’m only using what I have on hand. Not willing to place and order an wait for the delivery.

Cheers

Gimo

Hi gimo

Thank you for the praise!

Beautiful work so far , very crisp. Look forward to following your progress....are you tempted to do the full hull build? I think this will be my next but one project.....need some more pear wood first!

Cheers......mick

Hi Mick,

my next build will be for sure a “whole POF” project.

I’ve got the 74 Gunship monography (ANCRE) but it is too challenging for the time being (actually this is my first POF).
Yes indeed, I'm really tempted to do the full Triton. Will see !

People focus in on the strangest things, eh.

For me it is you neat   brass  STEEL right angle gauges!

Coming along very nicely

(PS: looked like brass to me .  Must be the lighting)

Hello Alan,

this is a useful (steel) gauge. Probably a "must have" in the modeller’s toolset.

Thanks for following.

hi gimo

great stuff! looking really good. best get cracking on mine now! very nice way of exposing the frames.

colours of the timber looking very harmonious. is that mahogany youve used for your bits and hatch coamings?

cheers....mick

Thank you Pete and Mick for the comments.

For the Bits and Hatch I've used beech stained with "orange stain" and the result is somewhat similar to the mahogany.

Cheers

Gimo.
