Hi Igor

When we were kids, there was a sci-fi American TV show called 'Land of the Giants' (Google it if you need to, but us oldies would remember it, I'm sure). It was about a group of humans who crash land on another planet full of giants and they spend one episode after another trying to survive being chased by Giants.

Your ship is so small, that it reminds me of being one of those Giants!

How you do it, is beyond me.

Keep up the good work

Cheers

Hi everyone,

Many thanks for good words!

Today I have made the planking of the lower part of the hull and prepared parts for desk houses.I too late thought that it is possible not to do the planking of the lower part since I am going to try to make the sea in a bottle.

Below you can see photos of today's work.

Best Regards!

Ighor.

With a copper bottom.  Even Captain Slocum would like it.  Don't forget the large radius on the port and starboard tops of the deck houses.

Many thanks, Bob, for for your consultations.

Yes, I remember these details.

I now think - to paste the planks on walls of deck houses or it is just to paint the walls...

Igor, very nice work.  Maybe you posted this once before, but for the photo-etched ship wheels, where did you source them from?  I haven't seen any at such small scale before.  I was thinking of going with old watch parts, but your photo-etchings look much nicer.

I see your using the Russian drawings.  They're different than all the others.  Now I'll get to see something new.

Hi Mike,

Usually I use the photo-etched details by NorthStarModels - http://northstarmodels.com/

It can be not only steering wheels, but also railings, anchors, chains and another.

Thanks Igor.  I have the website bookmarked.  I might try buying a bag of old used watch parts as well to see if they would work as well.

I of course wanted to make the pump, but it turned out just a little similar to it.Best Regards!Igor.

Hi Igor

That pump and its handle is just phenomenal! I'm constantly amazed at what you're doing.

You'd better be careful, though....don't breathe in or breathe out too close to it. It's so tiny that you never know where it might disappear to!

All the best

Igor thanks for all the information.  Even among the many drawing there are differences one from the other.  That is why I tried to build from the descriptions in Slocum’s book and the photographs.  You are doing a fine job.
