I agree with Sherry about the barnacles.  You should describe your process for making them.  I would be interested in learning your technique.

a tremendous help as was Petersson 's book.

This one shows the fore mast stave being attached, after it was all finished (Imean all finished)

I realized I installed it wrong, t should have been on the front of the shrouds not in back.I made sure I did it the righr way when I did the main mast.

beautifully done Frank......so glad to see your up to date.   I'm still in the works with mine.....so far the America is the only one I have up and running.   I also put the Gundalow and the M&M fun ship in the finished forum.......but in the worng one.....have to see if they can be moved.   I like you dead eye jig.......I was wondering how I was going to do it on the Goth when I get to it.   I had tried to order the dead eyes from a place in Florida......but they were a bust {idiots}.   I'll order them from model expo,  or somewhere a bit more well known and established.    superb work on your rigging,  my friend......your furled sail looks great!   keep up the good work!

Pleased to know they liked the barnacles my friend, and they should, you did an excellent execution of those little crustaceans ;)

Very neat work on the rigging there Frank, your excellent eye for detail coupled with that excellent Morope have really created a museum piece  :)

Aldo

Now we're all caught up. The furled sail looks very nice. Your rigging is excellent as well and the color really matches up well with the weathering. It looks like you'll be done in no time so have you given any thought to your next project?

Posted

Hi Sjors :   Yeah. I'm caught up to where I'm at in the build, I'll have some more updates after I get all the foremast yards sailed  and attached.

Aldo, you'er my mentor, without your help the barnacles would of never come to  be. I like the morope too, it has a really nice look. The rigging my friend, is not as good as it shoud be, my foremast rigging was really a learning step.

I'm more pleased with the main mast rigging, well ,I guess you live and learn.

Patrick : Thanks for the comments, Iwas concerened with the look of the sail, thats  why i posted the picture, to get some kind of feed back. I still have quite a bit to do, but when it's finished I have Krick's Alert that i plan to tackle.

Hello Frank,

Great to see you're back on track.

The furled sails look great. Well, done.

Now you can have a little rest, sit back and have a coffee or a drink and admire your work. We do!

But after that ..... It's back to the shipyard.

Great job Frank!

Take care,
