  1. Hi Bryan

Spoke to a few friends and they say they have had stuff from Guinea Hobbies too with no communication from them, but the goods arrived.

Maybe when they said anonymous they meant they did not have your email. Most problems is in the language difference i suppose. but as you registered on there i think your email would be part of the process

    Also check this http://review.easycounter.com/hobbiesguinea-scam-report

  2. Thanks to everyone for their likes, remarks and input so far, it's much appreciated :)

Some more input needed here, I have made these two containers, (one for each build) and i am not sure what they are meant to represent as once again no mention of the name is made in the instructions

My thoughts are they are fuse containers for the touch holes on the cannons. Also i think that what they are should determine where they are placed on the deck

What do you guys think ?

  3. That's some nice work, Cobr@.

If you are looking for ideas for additional equipment/props to add to your section, then check out some of the photos in Dafi's HMS Victory build.

(The above link only leads to one of his posts ... you'll need to have a look through to find other ideas.)

    Thanks Steve :)

I'm very familiar with Daniels log i followed it on other forums before i joined MSW :)

I don't want to overload it with more stuff as there are still a lot of things to add, such as, cannon tools. cloth sacks, bowls. and hammocks

  4. Hi Doug

Andrew is pretty helpful and will do his best to get the kit for you if it's not already in stock. If you get one i would thicken the gun carriages before assembly as they are on the thin side. I did this by lining the outside of the carriage sides with 0.5 mm x 3 mm strip wood. even though it's only half a mm each side it makes them much more sturdy and also makes them look like they are made from separate blocks of wood rather then ply.

Don't forget you don't get cannon barrels with the kit, just the carriages

  5. If the planking is of an even colour, personally i would just give it few coats of wood dye, or stain. I don't like the water based ones for this as they are more like paint and hide the grain.

But it is your choice to make at the end of the day, i'm sure whichever you choose you will make a good job of it :)

  6. Lovely build, some items to remember, better to save a link to your build! The only thing which struck me as a pity, is the manufacturer using plywood for the beams.

    Great work

Yes ply doesn't look to good but as it's the main frame i think strength was the main thing they were thinking of. Where the ply will be exposed i plan to put a piece of 0.5mm x 6 mm line over it and stain the same as the rest of the beam :)
