I would advise taking those screws out ! Throw them AWAY they have no role in the build!
For temporary fittings use the pins supplied into drilled holes and dont push them home
I agree, those screws will tear the wood up, there is no pressure on the deck so only a small amount of downward force is needed to keep it in place until the glue sets

Hi Don thanks
Not far to go now. Still have some wooden bowls to make and hammocks that are suspended between the overhead beams and some Cannon tools and the cannon ball racks to fit to the decks then i can do the upper deck, but not too much to do on that as show in the box picture in post #1

Have you noticed how much easier it is to glue yourself the the parts than it is to unglue yourself

Give them a ring to check because if they have been busy with orders they are a bit slow updating their site as it's not a live stock site which update themselves
Euromodels do the Amati 52mm ones too but it doesn't say if they are in stock or not
Personally i would wait rather than go down the plastic route
also they are only 40mm wide

Just found this log, looks like a great little kit and it's being put together in an extremely neat way

Love them both and they are not too small either, going by the dimensions
-
That looks like a great little kit, even better if you had both that one and the completed boat one
-
All those little things left to do can sometimes take up as much time as the main part of the build

Thanks Nick
Very helpful, shows me some of the parts supplied in my kit are not too far away from the real thing.

Thanks Don
Well they are either slow fuses as we think, or maybe cans of worms
