Update as of Feb 10 2016.

I finished planking and painting the inner bulwarks, and applied a coat of boiled linseed oil.
If you notice a different yellow color in these photos compared to previous ones, then you have a very good eye.
During this process I decided to change the "mustard yellow" color I had used for a "ochre yellow" color.
It may not be too apparent in the photos, but in person it makes a huge difference.  I am actually very pleased with the change.

    Thanks for visiting.

    Ferit, and Henry,

Henry your mouse looks really great.

Thanks for the information. I also had these "forgotten" jpg.s in my files.

I will try this technique for the main mast. The two mouse construction pics are from a MSW builder. I apologize, I don't remember who'se log I pulled these from - So I can't say thanks. BUT that seems to be a perfect way to do it. As you said Henry a bit labor intensive but great look.

I might redo the foremast mouse if the main comes out nicely. As always mates thanks so much for dropping by to this very very slow moving build.

Your boat is a boat of your imagination.  Do what you want.  You will be happy with your dream boat, not what others tell you a real boat looks like.

    Update....Bulkheads
Before returning to the few hull carvings remaining to be done, I spent a few hours re-visiting the ornamentation of the three main bulkheads on the weather decks.  I have recognized all along that they still needed a little more ornamentation, but never could decide what I wanted to put on them.
Here's what I came up with.... (before and after pics)

May still need to tweek the area on each side of the half deck initials "CR" seen in the middle pic....

Hi Greg. For the width, I either use an X-Acto knife first than a sanding block or if the taper is slight just a sanding block. For the thickness, I used a sanding block, working from the end that is the same thickness as the upper planks, to a reasonable way back to the full thickness.I think it was near the last bulkhead or so. After all the wale planks were added, I evened up the thickness again with a sanding block until they were all the same.

Good morning Dave, I just spent the last four hours, pot of coffee and way too many cigarettes going through your log. Man you have some sweet things happening here. I woke up this morning with full intentions of tying ratlines, this was much "bester"  . and a lot more informative(Thanks).
Looking forward to seeing more, as for door rings I would say yes. If anything they would be useful for securing doors open while on deck sitting at table having a cool one...........you were planning on deck, table and chairs right?

I'm not online here very often, but every time I do login, I turn to your log for inspiration and to keep the interest  re ship modelling fed properly.

Sincere thanks for your splendid work and presentation. The flywheels are just stunning.

Thought about the other hardware on the doors Piet, and concluded these doors would have always been secured internally with a heavy bar, and would have only been opened by a crew member from inside.
What think ye?  Not too late to add the typical rings.
Also considered adding King Chuck's "CR" to the doors, but decided against it.

Thank you for nice and supporting words, Piet. In my life, I graduated improvisation for many reasons. Also, when I make something, I have a irrational fear that structure will be weak, and usually I made it more stronger and complicated than it has to be. I remember when kids were babies, year 1993. full force of hyperinflation, and no money for anything... we just moved in our semi-finished house, with no furniture. I found some cheap pine lumber and made beds for babies ... thinking ... they will jump on beds ... they had to be very strong ... you just can not have any idea what wooden fortress I have made ... Also, our double bed in sleeping room has hidden metal structure and can withstand  weight of one tone !!!! You can easily hang yourself on any bookshelf I put on walls ... every concrete I have made in and around of house is much stronger than it had to be ...

That is just - me, and my irrational approach   to everything I make/made . This time, transposed to my model

    Thanks again

Mark, I put it out for general use by anyone who is trying to glaze small windows, as an alternative to the MM stuff. I didn't see it in the current MM catalog, but it may be on the website.

Keep on truckin' with what you're doing.   I am fascinated by the POF Hahn construction. Some day I may do one.

    Ken,
I'm late with this... I'll look into that for the next ship. I'm kinda' locked into this method for the rest of the glazing, I think.

Hate to hear about re-does, but your solution looks like it will work out much better. I know that's a word I'll be getting myself acquainted with soon enough.

Very nice looking doors Dave and to forget the hinges.  But - but - no door knocker or a little bell with a pull cord??
Glad you could save the door molding pieces, plenty of bling there
