  1. Looks good Norway! You're getting there I'm also not always happy with close-ups from my model...something to work on in the future haha.
  2. The Tanganyika looks more like wood though. I'm still not sure if I like that über clean look of boxwood
  3. I diluted some black paint, that worked fine. The only difference with the indian ink is...that diluted paint dries somewhat hard up. And with the ink the line keep more flexibel. Thank you!
  4. That's amazing! I myself have a background in CNC but never worked with a 4 axis mill. The result is really beautiful! Especially at that scale. Maybe make a business out of it
  5. Small update...installed the Fore gaff, main gaff and driver boom. There is a lot more to learn regarding rigging...like which knots etc. But that takes time I guess. Nice to discover which line is for what part to move or hold still.
  6. Your doing great Norway! Just step by step...I still didn't figure it out where those hanging pendants are for 😅, well...it will become clear at some point
  7. Yes I did not start with the kit yet. I live in the Netherlands but purchased the kit at Cornwall Model Boats. If that is the case like you said then I will send an email to CMB for a replacement. Thanks for tuning in!
  8. I've sent a mail to GMB when and if the stock was being refilled. This was more then a month ago I think. They said that the manufactorer did not have any stock anymore, so they didn't know when a new delivery was comming. GMB is great by the way...not meant as a diss The ships that you chose have also different scales, so that is maybe something that can help you with your descision
  9. The font is probably not accurate...but much better then the original letters that came with the box...don't really understand why Caldercraft supplied such letters as this:
  10. Finally named her...🙂 Used tape to measure the position. And found letters at Cornwall Model Ships at the right size and color. Afterward I applied a thin layer of varnish.
  11. It's a really nice build! I like the close-ups, your work is really precise Is the hull planking the same wood, but just with other finishes on it?
