Ron, some good ideas for ensuring flatness. I've been fortunate to have a friend who repaired copiers/printers once upon a time. He gave me some of the glass plates from the tops of these machines. They're flat plate glass and the edges are protected. I keep one for gluing various sand paper grits to and use the other as a build board, if I don't need to pin parts.

Denis, the resin dust can be irritating, so mask up if you're sanding. I know, just what you don't want to be doing, but the stuff can bother your respiratory tract. The boat is coming along well.

Yep, that's the best Well Done you can get. -
Nicely done, Denis. Maybe a seat harness to prevent your nodding off into the workspace.

Yes, Peter played the nasty sergeant quite well. The whole cast was quite good. The Cornwell series made me dig out a copy of Napier's history war on the Peninsula, the single volume version thankfully. The writing style of that time was laborious to read, so 1 book was enough. There are much better books with much better scholarship now.

I take it this is copy machine paper or similar thin paper? I can see one done in millimeter's and another in 1/64 or 1/32 inch. Good tip.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
