  1. We cant do anything about that. We also want Google to index and find our site. Its how we grow. Its a normal thing to have all search engines find your site and return it in their search results after someone uses certain search words. It can not be stopped. if any member doesnt want their stuff turning up in a search then they shouldnt post it anywhere on the web. Because it will eventually be found through a search engine. I am not sure how they are monetizing anything though…I cant see any evidence of that. Its not what they do. I dont agree with your statement about that at all. Chuck
  2. Quarter deck beams and planking templates just in case you guys need them for chapter 7. But they will most likely be used later when we plank the qdeck. Also the templates for the carlings and ledges on the qdeck. qdeckplanks-beams.pdf qdeckplanksframing.pdf qdeckplankingtemp.pdf
  3. Yes indeed. It would be pretty close. like this. With only one inboard tackle however. But that is rarely shown as it wouldnt be out at all times. But keep in mind we only have 4 lids per side. So not as impressive as a two or three decker, LOL.
  4. Its already available. Check the tab above for the “General discussions” area of the group project and you will find the topic on downloading monograph chapters. Its been up there for two weeks and I announced it when I uploaded it. Jim are you up to chapter 7….I havent seen any updates on your model since March. I would love to see what your progress looks like.
  5. Beautiful.....much much better.....I see a lot of folks who leave the WOP on the hull after applying it way too thick and it glosses over. Its not supposed to form a hard shell coating. Once wiping it on, use another lint-free cloth to wipe it off. It will seep into the wood and you will basically buff the surface free of the wet shiny stuff. This will leave a nice consistent surface quality showing the beauty of the wood without any gloss at all. Chuck
  6. You will most likely have some real problems on the port side planking up to the sheer. You should remove and fix the "kink" or abrupt bend in the planking. It appears just aft or under the last port opening. Other than that the planking looks lovely. Chuck
  7. Looks good. Bet you are glad thats finished. Be careful with the poly. You dont want a shiny hull. Wipe it off immediately so you dont get any shiny spots. I would sand the entire hull lightly and reapply. Wiping off any excess so you dont get any hint of a shiny spot.
  8. Bob…she is looking good. A quick note… If you plan on rigging the ships wheel, you should drill two holes in those slots on the gundeck. Into the center of each slot. I am talking about that little square just forward of the bulkhead. Then insert two long lengths of rope….025 would do the trick. If you dont do this now you will have a devil of a time getting rope down between the beams. You can wrap the rope around the drum for the ships wheel much later in the project. So just neatly coil it up and set it to the side for now after inserting the ends i nto the holes you drilled.
  9. Yes you can send folks here by posting a link to a log on MSW.....and yes you can post your stuff anywhere, its yours. This rule simply lets folks know that you cant take photos and logs from other people/members and post them outside of MSW....without asking them for permission first. For example....you cant copy my plans and build log photos for the Medway Longboat group on another forum without first getting permission from me....you shouldnt save any PDF files or chapters created here for such builds on other forums. You cant duplicate or post photos of another members work without asking them first for permission. Its to protect our members....you guys from having your photos and documents stolen without your knowledge or approval. Certainly you can see why that is the case. Chuck
  10. Just beautiful Glenn…cant wait to see what you do with the Winnie. The cedar on your Cheerful looks so lovely. chuck
  11. That is looking nice and tidy. Very nice progress. You have most of the repetitive stuff all done except for the cannons. It should go much easier from this point on.
