  1. I'm not sure what's causing that. I noticed you have some artifacts (images, characters in your posts). I tried to clean it up but there's still some space there.
  2. Sometimes I wonder what drives us to do this hobby 😆
  3. Good to hear from you. Life is full of challenges sometimes. Waiting patiently to seeing the Kingfisher progress.
  4. So, now that I've reached a good stopping point on the elephant in the room (my conny build), its time to get back to work on the longboat. As previously mentioned, I already know that the 4th row of planking needs to be made from scratch. Because of that I decided to do the lining of the hull over again since there are some variances and to make sure I get the planks right. I like to use a different approach to lining of the hull using a proportional divider. I know that there are 6 rows of planks remaining so I set the dividers to 6. Then I measure the remaining area to plank on each frame. I just use pinstriping tape and cut it to the correct length. Then I stick the tape to a flat surface, card stock in this case. Then just spread the dividers to cover the length. The result at the other end of the divider is the required width of each plank for that particular frame. I then walk the divider down the frame from the edge of the previously installed plank leaving a small hole. The draw the line at each mark. The result is below. Most of the marks were pretty much spot on with the previous marks. As you can see at the bow, there were some variances in the markings compared to the first time I did it. One side done and on the next.
  5. Hello and welcome to MSW It looks like you are off to a good start on your model.
  6. Welcome to MSW Martin Did you have a particular kit in mind?
  7. Hello and welcome to MSW. Nice work on the fishing boat.
  8. Welcome to MSW. The model looks really good.
  9. I finished the studding boom brackets and made the studding booms. The studding sail booms are just temporarily dry fit for now as I need to move them out of the way when I do the chainplates. At this point I'm declaring all the hull details as complete. Everything left to do (besides boats) is masting and rigging. I've never rigged a ship model though, and I'm not sure that I want this one to be the first so we'll see. I may do a couple of smaller ships first.
