Yesterday, I had the day off, so I took the opportunity to add the topsail and finish tying off all the running rigging. I ended up having to belay a lot of the lines incorrectly, but you can't tell in most cases. In other cases, I figure that I'll be adding rope coils at a later date to hide some of those details.

Flags are yet to go on, but I'm no longer feeling pressed for time to get the model done for the IPMS show this weekend. And, in any case, I should have time to get the flags done by tomorrow.

Would like to have braced the topsail around more, but the spreader yard was starting to hit the port shrouds and I din't want to deform them. Also, not sure what others do about this, but that spreader yard has no lines that pull down on it. On most ships, you at least have the sheet lines, which can be rigged to apply some downward pressure. As a result, the spreader yard halliard was too slack. So, I cheated, and if you look really closely, there's a thin black thread pulling the yard down, tied off to the staysail sheet horse. It's hardly noticeable, and it works!

    Anyway, flags are next...

    Hello,
it is done, the deck is finished. That was no easy job, at least in the stern and stem. I'm waiting now for the second oiling, and build in that time may be the rudder, some cleats or toggles.

And that is all you could see from the interior. Just some frames and parts of the mast step. But I have the pictures.

Small update on the upper deck layout.

During a week of vacation I asked and received information from the Mary Rose museum. Was there a capstan, and if so where?
    Answer.
There is no real evidence that there was one, but also no evidence that there wasn't one. And the most logical place is behind the main mast.

Also received a pdf "Cabels and Cablets of the Mary Rose" which contains a lot of information about the layout of the upper deck and the anchor cables.
This results in the following setup (not a technical masterpiece as it is sketched on a beach chair, but reasonably clear).

    Start upper deck.

    Thanks Steven,
This capstan also served to raise the anchors and is therefore placed on the upper deck.

On the upper deck of the rear castle there is a winch for operating the mizzen sail.

But, I completely forgot about the knight For the main sail.
    Thanks for bringing this up.

..Alive and kicking - however, so softly.

In the time that I have available, and am ALERT, I make what little progress I can.

I’m working on deck furniture.  A considerable amount of time was spent, as always, on de-plasticizing the appearance of these parts; flash removal, in-filling of injection mould marks, softening of sharp edges, and general detailing.

I wish I were doing more, but life demands are limiting what’s possible.  As always, I so appreciate all and anyone that continues to check in, or take a look at the project.  Some day, I will finish this one!

Continuing with the cannons and preparations for the main deck.
The forged iron cannons are constructed from polystyrene tubes, the inner and outer diameters of which differ by 1 mm.
These are then glued to the wooden part (carriage) and provided with an iron pin. They will be finished later.

Making 4 stairs and the support of the deck.

With dry fitted fore castle and (to long) bowsprit

    Thank you Druxey, Baker.

I made some adjustments and I'm MUCH happier with the mainsail.

Also, I realized that the lighting in the last photo is what main the staysail halliard look too big. Here's an updated photo. Still have to secure the lines. Then I can add the square topsail and finish up the flags.
