I’m awaiting an upgrade set from EBay for my next build so this is the sorbet. I’ve wanted to build it for years but the North Star upgrade has been sold out for ages. I’ve got enough in spares to replace a lot above deck.

This thing is tiny. And very simple. A lot will need replacing from spares, but offers some significant weathering challenges for oil canning, rust, chipping

The A-class torpedo boats were a class of German single-funnelled torpedo boat/light destroyer designed by the Reichsmarineamt for operations off the coast of occupied Flanders in the First World War. The A designation was to avoid confusion with older classes and designs. They were known as "coastal torpedo boats" (German: Küstentorpedoboote) to differentiate from larger, ocean-going torpedo boats. Post WW1 it was awarded to Poland. From 1937 served in the Polish Navy as a target ship for aviation exercises and as it was unarmed. The outbreak of World War II found it in Puck (no idea where this is, sorry). During the September campaign it was persistent but ineffectively bombed by German planes. After taking Puck, it became a German prey. It’s fate is unknown, probably cut into scrap metal. There is very little history of this ship, but it cost $20 and I love this type. It’s cheap, nasty, needs work and the only aftermarket no longer is produced. Thus it’s a kits bash. Should be fun.

Ok, job completed. If I was going to show this I would redo the aircraft with a couple of hundred $ in upgrades but I wanted to keep it simple and considering it’s going into a closed cupboard that’ll do. I’ll add a few posts now to do some comparisons

The little metal bits on the photo lifted up the cable got the hook, there are three along the line of the cable

Just having watched ‘Midway’ I reckon the whole dive bombing thing whilst being shot at would be overrated as well.

Yes, bought a replica off ebay in lieu of a nameplate. there will only be two planes on the bow plus the one landing, the rest will be under.

Yep, but during recovery the aircraft on deck were at the bow and their wings folded, the barriers went up between each landing. my Zeppelin had them taking off this time it will be landing. I could fill up the deck but it would double the cost of the kit! nearly done.

Upsidesown kangaroo this is the total of the aircraft, nearly all will be in the hangar, weathering and props to go.

True that, a pretty horrible way to die but getting captured did kit seem a good option either. ive started on the aircraft, trying to make a 3 tone paint scheme. The Pontos decals are exceptional and only take about 5 seconds to come off the backing. I bought an extra 6 pack of Avengers to make a total of 10, with 4 hellcats and 4 dauntless. Most of these will be packed in the hangar deck.
