There are numerous products available and I have no clue what is readily accessible Down Under. Do a search for Metal Blackening Solution and dozens will show up. I looked for Brass Antiquing capabilities.

You can buy blackening solution. You place the brass part in for a minute or so and it is chemically blackened. I bought mine at a Stained Glass shop. You can also get it online.

When my hobby area was in the wood shop I would just pin them all to the wall. It was nice to have all of them out to reference. When I moved upstairs when the Goat Locker was completed I have dry wall and my walls are all taken up by my plaques so no room to pin. I have read a couple of ideas I am going to implement. (1) I like the idea of copying and putting in a folder. (2) I like the idea of a adjustable drafting board. Thank you all for the suggestions.

Awesome. The first photo looks like it was taken right on the street.

I am looking for either a Drafting Table or an easel to mount my plans. I want something large enough but also portable or even able to be broken down and stored. Any suggestions.

Mike that is one fine looking result. I learn something every time I build and I have learned so much in the few months I have been on this site. I constantly had issues bending wood for planking. I dry bent, soaked in water, soaked in ammonia (NEVER AGAIN) and was getting pretty frustrated. Then I read this log that mentioned steam. So I went on Amazon, bought a steam cleaner with a nozzle attachment and it makes things so much easier. You can bend and twist with ease. If you build the Mayflower it has a blunt bow and I wish I would have known about steam at the time. That boat must have been a rough ride plowing into the seas.

I guess I am a blessed man as I have an entire building 50x 30 two story Garage Mahal. Downstairs is my woodworking shop. Scroll Saw, Chop saw, Oscillating sander, Shopsmith with Band Saw and Jointer plus a ton of sanders and other hand tools outside covered wood storage. Upstairs is the Goatlocker Vintage Audiophile room and boatyard. Love it! Stereo crankin' and I'm a plankin'

I have glued actual wood strips to plastic ship decks and they looked great, also covers up that unsightly seam.

What a beautiful stern. I see what you are talking about BUT look how far the channel would have to protrude in order to clear the rail.
