I go back to my Technical side, if you call it out in the procedure, put it in the box. Builders will want it and having it as an add on upgrade will only add time to the build and possible frustration on the builders part if they want it and you are out of stock. I would just up the price and sell it as a complete kit.

Wow! That's a brave option he's taking.
Thanks, Grant.
Well if it sinks it will be historically accurate. 🤗

I have finished my plate jig and am getting ready to punch plates. Has anyone a count on approximately how many plates per side?

hi jim
i believe FAA is FLEET AIR ARM.
AND A WARM WELCOME TO JIM AS WELL!!
CHEERS....MICK
Acronyms mean different things in different places. FAA means Federal Aviation Administration over here. Back in the 70’s my ship pulled into Portsmouth for Liberty. A bunch of our sailors where drinking as sailors do and bragging about being members of the IRA. It got REAL quiet and a bunch of the local folk were getting really pissed. One of the sailors asked what the problem was with being a member of the IRA and showed them his International Rodeo Association belt buckle never realizing that IRA in Britain was a totally different thing.

Hi Bob,
Totally understand: “You can’t get a job unless you belong to the Union, and you can’t join the Union unless you have a job” sort of like Catch-22. Just looking for kits will informative instructions.
by the way, I once saw a display stand that a wooden model ship rested on, that was Timber Frame logs and made to look like a boat slip, I have been searching the web and Pinterest with no luck, it was an awesome display stand for a ship......Si
The Model Shipways Virginia Armed Sloop comes with that stand. Their is a Practicum available for that kit.

Your hull looks good. I always paint or copper my bottom hulls. You could apply a paper thin strip of cherry and feather it in , varnish it and it would look great. On a real ship keels were always nicked and dented so don’t worry about that.

Don't forget to flux both sides.

Nuestra Señora de Atocha 1622 Spanish with the ornate stern carvings, Syren style instructions. I would pay $500 to $750 for a quality model.

Eric! I am so glad to see this log. And you have some great stuff that will help me. How much will it cost me to buy your copper jig? Looks like you have done an outstanding job.
I am serious if you are no longer interested in your coppering jig. I would be willing to take it off your hands. Did you make 3 patterns as chuck suggests?
I was going to ask about the coppering jig too but you beat me to it.

I have seen oars in a rainbow of colors. Solid Black, all Natural, different blade colors, different handle colors, just the blade tip. I believe it is your call and whatever you choose will be just fine.
