Sorry Dick, cannot dislike, as I am not educated in this field of expertise, so I'll refrain from your kind request.

It sounds like the Scrum method in software development ... as Mark said, a beautful philosophy, and a perfect way to work on the different parts of the build. Remco has a signature much a like: "Treat each part as if it is a model on its own, you will finish more models in a day than others do in a lifetime."

I mind, Lou "Rig that thing" as I wrote before. I have EZ line too, but that was to coarse to my liking, to overwheling. This has the same properties, but is inifinitely thinner ... got it from a shop in the UK, not flea bay

Maybe start on the Titanic, instead of writing about it ... now you've seen how it works by following RGL's builds. Did you see his logs on the Japanese armada? Nice relaxing passtime after a hard days work ... something to look forward too Nah, you would get bored real soon ... Greg beat me to it, but he has, as I do, a lot of those portlets from Yamato, your paper punch idea is nice, but maybe only for over sized portholes, brass rod would make it very expensive You have set yourself quite some prepping, mate .. drill out portholes, making the deck flush ... I'll stick to rigging for the time being ...

Thanks Denis, praise from the master of creativity! Yes, the subs should go into a diorama, I'm pondering on th water, since I'm not really willing to spend $65 on water, if it flows freely from the tap Funnels turned out good. Did you paint the insides black? It's easier when not yet "capped", but even with that beamed grating, you could still manage, be it somewhat difficult. I can't see anything wrong with your railing on that small rectangle, it's a small model so after the davits and the ship's boats are installed, you will hardly see the structure ... with PE, it's actually the more you do it, the easier it becomes, althoug sometimes you want to chuck it out of the window, especially when you have had a lot of jumping bling ... Lou, I know you wanted to, thanks for letting me concentrate. I just did half of the funnels' rigging in 2.5 hours, 5 more lines to go ... gawd, it looks like I'll be spending the rest of my life on rigging this ship!!!

Depends on the client mate ... I did some "research" (testing my poor abilities) on a set of 2 Japanese subs (1/700), so I can extend my poor prowes on my next build (RN H class destroyer) since I'm waiting on parts from Ukraine. For those interested first image is a macro, the other one the way we would normally see it, if not blinded by whatever state of mind, a thank you to a few forum members for helping me out by giving some constructive feedback

Greg you have to come up with something better than footy, if there is one passtime I abhor, it is that, I don't even find it to be a sport: a bunch of over paid whimps they are, led by a corrupt set of money minded $%^&, so you are right in what you wrote about footy You may enlighten me (preferably by PM) on "Yanks had a significant impact on us keeping English as our first language in the 1940’s" Polly ... SYF or should I write SYB and sit still

Eduard is rubbish for ships. Not for their own airplane kits Never tried Tom's as it didn't deliver what I needed I have a Fly Hawk set for Musashi, not bad but could be better, Pontos' set was better, so I used both of them, as my kit was from the old tool, and the Pontos set was sold as old tool, but only covered the new one Alliance Model Works is expensive, mainly due to shipping. If I need it I truy to buy from ebay. North Star has some nice general PE And there is Atlantic Models which has some sets for Royal Navy models in different scales, which I liked working with

All things considered, sailor-man, nicely done. Those railings really bite you in the hiney when you don't pay attention, or let your concentration wander ... I found the PE in this kit very fragile compared to e.g Pontos PE

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
