  1. Only if cooked right, I wonder if you know howto ... "Dummies book for fowl cooking" ... that doesn't diminish the fact it is still FOUL play!
  2. Thanks Greg. Still a long way to go. Currently remodelling the forard superstructure, a.o. the bridge. I won't be able to get her all the way into Glowworm, but I'll try to. Rangefinder and it's control are up ... alternated by some mind blowing PE ... the grill on the funnels, one down, one to go ... although a bit early in the build, I suddenly started to put some antifowling red on the deck ...
  3. Well Greg, it seems you need parental conscent ... did you ask your wife to join, and take you by the hand ...
  4. Couldn't recall where I read the measurement information, but now you gave the title ... it all falls back into place .. I've got the same book! There is a wealth of information in it, a lot of joinery which is fascinating - at least I find it so - sliding doors, moon doors, lattice work, garden fences ... Pitty the book is OOP for those interested.
  5. Wrong!!!!!!! you gotta buy a kit an' update set (vely expsive, don't join! teasing plohibited)
  6. I'll follow at a safe distance ... if you do not mind ... even if you did
  7. geisha ...? someone needs to poor the liquid when the hands become unsteady ... to spill is a sin ...
  8. the details you added are very fine. Haven't seen such very often on kit builds. Well done
  9. it's the one I'm building. I will do the Huron too. I wanted to do a G class but could't find a kit. should have looked under tribal class At the start I didn't yet know which one to build, then Lou came up with the Glowworm ... what can I say ... I'm a sucker for underdogs
  10. Gawd, that sub must be the cleanest in the fleet OC ... and spoiled rooten for all the rubbin' she's gotten so far!!
  11. Following kit instructions ... you call that fun ... ? So far there has been one challenge: Getting the hull plating to show at this scale. Before that,:To glue or not to glue ... now ripping things up, and adding components, makes it start to look almost like a scratch build a bit of a basratch build It starts to cool down - I know Greg: Tain't 'alf 'ot 'ere - so tonight I'll get my rattle can of flat varnish out and give Vendetta and the two Japanese subs a coat. After drying, the subs get a gloss coating on their balast tanks to make them look whet-ish for some realism when I get on a diorama ... I'm visualising palmtrees , a sandy bay, white beaches, tropical drinks ........ and two moored subs ... whats wrong in this picture
  12. Again thanks for the likes and the comments! CLeared the deck with the molds to stick the platform on. primed a couple of parts, funnels, base of the forard "super"structure, 4.7" guns (inside, and bottom), replaced the bollards, and fairleads. I'll try tomake a picture with the difference kit vs detail up. I'll need to build a searchlight tower, and change the bridge's rear section. Going to have some fun ... that's for certain
  13. (For Lou ) Bringing the aft raised gun platform into proportions for Glowworm ... (glad I have two of this kit, so I can mess up ) ripping it up .. Putting it back together again ...
  14. You meant whip, of course, from a whipping with yer fathres belt Strange but effective setup Piet. Look forward as to how you will finish it ...
  15. and you wouldn't want to disappoint me ... naturally ... you did, as usual, trigger my curiosity though ... cannot wait for the sequel on the bridge's decorations
  16. Don't drag, use the bin icon on the image itself. Very nice, and crisp detail. You really did a wonderful job there
  17. You have a strange building streak by keeping us in suspense ... you know what happens with cunning plans ...
  18. Piet, He means the colour scheme from 1942 to 1944 ... ( ) It really does make a vast difference, Greg, so much better. Is it a tripod mast?
  19. Would that be logical ... It is odd as they seem to be the result of the mezza lune technique. But how would you make a fluent hull shape if you did use them ...
