  1. It's a bit like the French measurements before, during, and after the revolution ... but the Japanese added a third dimension, being body length ... somehow they always find a way to make things seem complicated, and when you look into it, it is rather logical ...
  2. When you have them double in your edit box at the bottom where you upload the images to show in your post, you should throw one out, it will disapear from the posting, at least, I presume that is the matter
  3. I have one against the forward bulkhead of the rear gun platform, as good a place as any. You are making nice progress, getting used to 1/350 scale ...
  4. For a first timer, you do a marvelous job, even if you had build before, you are doing a wonderful job
  5. The hull plating I applied with primer over the length of the ship is just 3mm wide ... I'll be needing a brush with a single hair
  6. The point is, when I look at the model in her present paint covering, I can distinghuis the hull plates quite well. What will be the result after the final colour coats have been applied ... will the plating still be visible ... I can try it on this one, and if it isn't pronouced enough, I can add the highlights and shades on the HMCS Huron, which I'll be building too ... decisions, decisions, decisions ... (Never knew plastic models could be so hard to build)
  7. Now you're talking!! She looks used, mebby bit of grunge and you got her straight back from a tour of duty
  8. Removed the banana stripes ... One more layer to add, so the entire tub will be primed. I wonder if I need to set highlights and/or shading on the hull plating ...
  9. That's the first layer, now for getting theses parts on their respective places ... got some more reading to do on the RN style deck layout Cheers
  10. Maybe I can disrupt you log a bit further ... I can get you larger pictures, PM me if you want to. Size has it's limitations, or is it disruptiveness ...
  11. I see you are not less adept with fiddly origami, mate. Very impressive for a fiddler ... Cheers
  12. Yes quite devastating, how did you guess ........ especially for Aussie midget mates ...
  13. Yes it was camouflaged for fear of destruction in the yard - she was still under construction at the beginning of WWI - that was grey and grey, after that a light grey, and a dark grey version, and from late '42 until her refit in '44 a more colourful camouflage
  14. I'll try to get you some camouflage pictures today of the KGV during the 1943 period from a book on British battleships and cruisers I've got (same series as the one on destroyers I showed in the RN H class log) and her initial camouflage, which wasn't a single grey with a green or blue rectangle
  15. That looks a real challenge, how will you hide the seems between the different levels?
  16. Who's that spinach-man talking to ...? Did anyone say camouflage could be colourless ... I like the yellow one at the bottom ... could be a desert ship ( in Dutch that's the alternative name for a Camel )
  17. Received some parts for the build, these are large images (courtesy of Shapeways, and their copyright) in reality most parts (i.e. the entire set) are no bigger than the nail of my pinky finger 1/350 4.7"/45 (12cm) QF Mark IX CPXVII Guns x4 1/350 Royal Navy Tribal Class Fairleads 1/350 Royal Navy Tribal Class Bollards x10 1/350 Quad Vickers 0.50"/62 MKIII 45º No Shield x4
