You are quite right to take your time with hull planking Rexy. It will define how you, and others around you, will experience the end result. It sounds you do not like to show photographs of your process, like a heavy obligation pressing on your shoulders ... So far your build looks very promising. Steady as she goes! Cheers

Morning Greg, I can imagine your head isn't looking forward to the double and single gun "compilations". I'm on the singles but it's a slow process. It is good to switch, and the airbrush is a new challenge, a fun one. there are numerous ways to improve on yourself. Presently I can't do anything with it. It's to cold and humid where I spray. In that respect downunder is a better place for airbrush. You'll enjoy that infinity. It realy is a pleasure to work with. Cheers

Quite a row of new recrutes! You are ever so right. When you look closely at them you see all kinds of miniscule misalignments (especially when you made the part yourself), but with the naked eye, at a normal viewing distance ... not visible at all. Very impressive sight!!!

22 more chances to get it right Greg. When I look at it without macro, it seems alright. When you get in close (macro/magnifier) suddenly it doesn't look that well anymore. The main problems are the delicacy of the material and the size (glad I'm not at 1/700) The first requires careful manipulation (bending it the wrong way initially makes you end up with a broken part - been there, done that), the latter making it hard to handle. I have to bend a 7mm long 3mm wide piece lengthwise ... doesn't leave much room for pliers/tweezers ... a whole new experience I might add How on earth can you tap any assembly at that size ...?

Slog, I used insta-cure+ from Bob Smith Institute ( http://www.bsi-inc.com/hobby/hobby.html ) I've got both the insta-cure (blue bottle), and insta-cure+ (purple). The + is somewhat thicker which I found, worked better on those large sheets of brass ( enormous sheets ) I might have a try at the IC-Gel or the maxi-cure for larger area's. I need to get them from England (ebay), as they are not available in the Netherlands. You might get it from ebay.com.au. Cheers

Hello Nigel, Last year August I bought these I've been working with the latter one on the turrets and the gun. It makes life a lot easier on the eyes. At least I do not get headaches!! Cheers

As promised ... Yesterday's harvest Today I started on some other detail. Greg has done something likewise (tripple guns) It seems he is working on what I start with now. 25 single 25mm guns. At a scale of 1/350 the parts look a bit like this (get your magnifiers out) Wish me luck in keeping all parts on the table top ...

Brian, If you put your planks on the hull without any bevel, you get what happens at 1 If you bevel each new plank at one side you get what is shown at 2, one of the planks will protrude If you bevel both sides of each plank, you get what happens at the opposite side

Thanks, I'll have a go at it. Gave it a try, and it works well! The only downside is ... I can't sniff acetone anymore
