cog reacted to Julie Mo in Endeavour 1934 by Julie Mo - Amati - Scale 1:35 - America's Cup UK J-Class Challenger
Harry, I must have been reading your mind. It seemed nothing I did could create the definition I hoped for, I think the problem is the lines of the planking hid some of the definition. So I just winged it.
I applied some mineral spirits and that did bring out some more definition but I don't think I will be able to get the definition I had hoped for unless I cut in a darker plank to define it. Doubtful...

Yes you can build one..... I still have all the moulds here so I am thinking of making some buildingsets in the future.

Do you sell through ebay, or another site ...? Love that setup, Michael. I think we are all suckers for tools, and jigs ...

When I see you at work, I strongly consider building without the PE Inspiring. Got those posts bookmarked!!

To be honest, I don't think that will be working as the tape will lift the plank from the wood and make it longer then required, or that shouldn't matter much. However, by what I see you do not have a lot of leeway...

Well done. Now for the, as you called it, fun of furnishing the interior.

Just catching up Jesse, that pump is amazing, such great work. Love your start on the wheel, interested to see how this plays out as the supplied ships wheels in many kits seem sub-par and its such an important feature.

Michael - you could just stop the restoration and go into 3rd hand production. I'm sure you would find many buyers.

I have started using the new third hand to work on the cable stays, the longer reach is helpful, Of course I could have just made a longer bar for the first one, but why only have one third hand when you can have two.
What can I say?.... I'm a tool Junkie, and it is fun making them.

Nenad,
At least you've got an example how to get the form of the plug. Enjoy the little mischief as long as possible. Small dogs get bigger too ... an other princess ...

Hi Patrick,
you`re surely becoming to be a specialist for interlocking removeable sections on a model. A professional modelmaker company for extrusion dye formed resin section part kits could not have done it better, Great model and super work, Bravo !!

Many thanks Nenad and Mark.
I also reckon she looked great on the water. Better than I thought she would actually.
Interesting comments about the frogs, Nenad. There's koi and goldfish lurking beneath the surface. Given that the koi are about three times the size of Shadow....the potential for a major incident is very high!
Have a great weekend.
Cheers

I had to look twice, Patrick. She looks right at home in the water and to the unknowing, they might think the real thing.

Great work!

Thanks Frank.
I was surprised as well about the balanced way that she floated. A tad lower in the bow than I would've liked, but, hey, I'm just glad that she didn't sink!
Have a great weekend.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your comments and Likes. Greatly appreciated.
Well.....she FLOATS!!!!! Who would've thunk it, hey? After doing some more wet and dry sanding and painting of the hull and superstructure last night, I thought I'd see if Shadow actually floats. So, off I went to one of our garden ponds and, well, I'll let the pictures say the rest...
Enjoy
Cheers
