  4. Update some of the aft vents, aft boats-deck floor, and outcuts for the aft stairs..... Nils some of the Dremel bits have 3 mm shafts, (here used as place holders, for vent tube centering...)

  6. Many thanks to John and Piet,...... and all the "Likes".. John, sometimes I get an flash-idea how to do this or that.... so its not always thinking far ahead with these small, partial solutions Piet, its still quite a long way to go, You`re always very welcomeI`ll be pleased if you drop in now and then... Nils

  9. I agree Bob, thats probably one of the challenging things a "scratch builder" faces, but its also the pepper and spices in the meal... Nils
  10. Thanks Denis, nice compliments of yours, I wish I were so far to build the stacks, (have gathered some 26 mm diam. plugs to wrap the metal funnel skin around already) , or at least to install more details of the superstructure that makes it look more like the ship should look like. Nils
  11. Denis, thanks for your nice compliment my freind, much appreciated, In the moment I`m planing on dry-fitting the aft half of the boats deck. Then it has to be planked in the foreseen places. This ca`nt be glued on, before all fitting out on the lower promenade deck is completed. (no access later on) Also there are several stairways, several vent-tubes, deck furniture, passengers, fastening of aft shrouds and backstays etc. to be fixed in place, primering and painting.... I`m thinking it through over and over, regarding to "what must go first", and always something comes to mind, that was forgotten to consider before... Nils
  12. A little update... fitting in of the aft mast and setting it`s rake... cleats, bollards and hydrants for promenade deck... trial to brush paint the deck furniture (slats of the benches only... Nils
  13. Thanks again Dan, I`m not sure if Tom`s Modelworks (Australian web shop) has deckchair etchings in scale 1:192..........., Post run house to house was 18 days and absolutely no problems with customs, and Paypal payment http://www.tomsmodelworks.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23_40 Nils
  14. Thanks Dan, for answering, what a pitty no build log, thats such a nice liner. Is it in scale 1:144 like the deckchairs ?, if I remember right the Andrea doria is 1:192. You did a real good job with the handrail brush-painting Nils
  15. Hi Dan, its a pleasure to have you looking in again...... That a very nice shot with the deckchairs on your SS America, and many thanks for your tip with the face up tape and spray coloring. BTW, how did you do the handrail portions (brown color) on the railings, did you mask then off ? is there a build log for your SS America ? Regards, Nils
  16. thank you Patrick, regarding to the fire Water-Hydrants, I did 6 (three stations on each side of the promenade deck) I also need some bollards and cleats alongside of the promeade deck railing, started making some today, using rivets, brass strip, and wood dowels, I intend to do 14 or 15 Nils
