    Many thanks Carl Bob and Oystein, and all the "likes" Carl, right, trust the whole ship was well ventilated with all those vents, I do`nt know if there were perhaps electric powered ventilators somewhere in the line to enforce the airflow... Bob, thanks for your nice comment... Oystein, If possible, I like to avoid painting brass surfaces, it too easily looks like using plastic parts afterwards. An alternative would have been chemical blackening, but as I used soft solder with the rims and CA for securing the lid-hinges this would have given problems with the surface appeal Nils

    Hi Bill, presume you mean the rims of the skylight panel lids.... The rims are made by inserting 2,5 ² mm lead sockets (for conduct wire ends) through the drilled holes in the brass panel, and soldering these to the panel. The German word is "Aderendhuelsen", sorry do`n t know the engl. term. I also used these for all the hull`s portholes The remaining end at the rearside is then cut off, The skylight ports remain without "glassings" Nils

    Good work Peter, those copper plates look very nice, one can really see the nail-heads sunken flush into the copper surface... Nils

    Thanks Denis, yes, the already painted one was used again......, I put a rotating brush bit on my Dremel and carefully removed the paint and primer. Now there shall go a coating of clear varnish on the brass surface Nils

    Mike, thanks very much for your words, and also all the "likes" for clicking on... relating to the sailing on these liners, take a look at the "rolling mode" of the KWdG ( nickname : Rolling Billy) compared with the horizon at relatively moderate sea, trust many passengers had become seasick on those rides.     Thanks Bill, sometimes I think its better that I did`nt know what all is involved with the build in the beginning, although it does`nt even look so tricky with this scratch build ....., but you`re right, I`m learning a lot of things "by doing", out of the necessity... Nils

    John, thanks for your nice compliment....., much appreciated.. I decided to mount the light lids in natural brass appearence (looks a bit more "technical" than a cover with paint). Had to carefully brush off the paint from the one I did upfront. Two of the skylights will show with open lids, and four of them with closed lids Nils
