    Hi Jparsley, those are figurines made by Preiser. If you Google "Preiser around 1900" you`ll find a large variety most in scale 1:87 (H0 gauge) The N gauge scale like I am using, 1:160 in turn of the century fashions around 1900 is unfortunately not being produced any more, so with a bit of luck you may be able to find something via Ebay now and then, or from second hand model train dealers...     Hi Martin, many thanks for your compliment, much appreciated.... I`m also still looking for passengers relaxing in deckchairs for taning in the ocean sunlight....., there is an Australian source for scale 1:144 (Titanic deckchairs brass- etched sets), but I find no figurines in period fashions that would lay comfortably in the semi -horizontal chair position...., trust I`m expecting too much there Nils

    Thanks very much Bob, I know its a bit early to think of adding figurines already at this stage, but the search is running early for "needles in the haystack" and I had some luck with Ebay auctions to date.... I also believe they will make the KWdG come alive ... Nils

    Hi John, thats a nice comment ,I`m pleased that you like the model ... I`ve been searching now for weeks already in order to find little scale figurines in 1900 period fashions, and some suitable crew members, they are so rare and hard to find because obviously the are not being produced in the scale 1:160 any more Nils for promenade- and boatsdeck (gauge N, scale 1:160) some of the crew sailors for deckwork (gauge N, scale 1:160)

    thank you very much Denis and Don, Denis, I think I`ll overwork the prototype boat a bit, make it look good and try experimenting in making a mould for resin casts. If it works well, it will be the same procedure with the other two boat types. There`s no hurry in doing so, but need to learn by doing Don, I´m very pleased that you like the model, you`re always welcome to look in... Nils

    thank you very much for your compliments and nice words Dirk, Denis, Ed, Nick, Tom and John, and also all the "likes" for clicking the button.. the progress will from now on take more time to do, before results can be seen, due to the many many detail solutions that all must be thought through.... I have the unbuilt printed set on card version in scale 1:250 which is a great help for arranging all those steps in elevations for the boats deck The sample pic is kindly borrowed from the web, and showing a stunning well built waterline card model...     many thanks Denis and Albert for your nice comments, much appreciated, Update... although there has been much work on the frame and stanchions for the boats deck with all that soldering job, there is not so much to be seen in the progress. All the davit bearings are on. The boatsdeck and the stairways will have to be done now..... Nils

    Update soldering the upper davit bearings in place, beginning with starboard side Nils 10 boat stations = 8 davit pairs and 2 single ones per side the still unpainted wooden chunks, will later on be the nav-light cabinets, access from the deck side, per door
