Hi Thunder, Those are super helping! First impression was "wow that looks almost like mine". Easier would be to lend your model and copy/paste from there It is really nice to build in cooperation with someone experienced - thank you for all the support Thunder! Do you allready have next build choosen?

My Cruiser has some Snake parts but noticed that too late :D. So you might find some ideas there. Lets call mine hybrid Snuizer

Havent updated for a month but work hasnt been stopped. Still working on cannons. Yesterday received last blocks for tackle. Did first line and i love the added detail. Just winder how to get rope “more loose” so it would look more natural. Also i will probably tie it up - transport state. Also deadeyes almost done. Last fixing when ropes are attached to get right line. This was sort of an headache as i cant close the “chainplates”. Also tried soldering deadeye iron bands-sry but cant do it so used epoxy to close it. About closing cahinplates-read that others also left it open as it near impossible to do it. Im trying to find 1mm brass tube (yeah good luck with that) so i could so call overlap it. Other than that im close to glue the mast and start rigging and doing yards. Some are ready for blocks, some not. I feel that im really close to ending this chapter of the build and getting to next one (masts and rigging). I fear rigging the most as drawing are Sometimes hard to under stand. Thunder definitely helps with his build but he researches his rigging so im hard spot little bit. Probably some part of rigging will be unlogical and total ship also when finished but still-first one hopefully done soon

Dry fit with breech line. Length is 3x cannon as i remembered it from somewhere. Rope is about 1mm and found it from my real first kit from 10y ago. Seems to fit nicely. Small problem also as i dont have small double blocks. Luckily outhaul tackle can be placed after as its with hooks. Probably have to order those. Lesson learned-when ordering stuff then look more forward and do your research so you order only once.

Hi, If you just want materials then it would be easier to buy that from Model Expo together with the kit. ATOS Essex should give info about dimensions etc.

All iron bands installed but need paint. First started with CA but it got messy so turned to one Gorilla one i had and predrilled holes and filled them with glue - much better outcome. Extra ring for breech rope i got from hobby jelwery store. its 4mm but made is smaller. Also needs paint. Picture here is first i did to see how it will look. To be honest im happy. Now i get a rush to improve it even more but is it worth it this time - dont know. Maybe add pin to the wooden block below cannon? And like always with my stuff it needs some paint repairs. Last pictures are how i bended the iron bands as they were so small and i couldnt do it any other way....final tough was given with pliers. 1) put them on masking tape so they stick in place 2) Folded it together and put 2mm drill bit between 3) Put them between vice and tight together. 4) final touch was and with 2 pliers, drill bit still between

I noticed just now(stupid of me) that kit probably does not have thicker rope that goes behind cannon. What size did you use there and if its no secrect whose you use?

And the cannons have wheels... Also decided to paint that steel rod black and fake ends also balck woth circle dots. What would be optimal ring size that goes to eyelet and rooe from back of the cannon runs trough that? Smallest circle infound from hobby shop is 4mm but it too big in my opinion, should be 2-3mm. Great find few days ago. My local handycraft, painting etc shop had great brushes with cheap prices so i got a bunch. 3 times cheaper than cheapest in hobby shop....

Some progress. Finished rudder-not perfect but im happy as i have postponed it quite some time. Mast have blocks now. It works when i dont dillutate pva. Started with chainplates and as usual it wont fit. Strops if i call them right are about 3mm too shrot. Also checked Thunders build and yes im right here. Also strops need individual approach each as i understand. Will try to make new ones from brass wire and solder it together as it dont seem logical for them to be open. Or should they be open?

Nice to see you are back! Maybe try sharp blade and carve with that. Did try it on Cruiser and worked well. It will not do any harm if it wont work.

Tnx all for the input, specially Thunder as the mentors me in this build by giving good tips. And to everyone else also by motivating. I just sent in order for extra hooks. Hope to get them in 1-2 weeks. Cornwall didnt have them so took it directly from Jotika. Until that point i will continue with a lot of small details still to do before rigging can actually start . Also im going to put cannons first before the rigging as proposed by all. Vahur

I started with Terror also but is has been put on side for now. The chainplate solution was terrible so ordered new ones. Then i noticed how terrible my work was on ship quality wise - didnt like it at all. So started Cruiser. Much better quality here. At some point i will finish the Terror but not yet. Doing the Terror i didnt even imagine you can go so crazy with the build like you guys are going. What i see is that most of us pay 200 + eur for a kit and then replace most of the parts. WHY???? So total cost would be at least twice that. Just send us drawings and false keel - we will take it from there Vahur
