    hi again
i forgot to mention in the previous post that a little help is required.Regarding the lateen rig. The plans show only the basic position of the ropes.
my knowledge of lateen rig is scanty to say the least.
some help with regards to how the ropes were attached to the yards and how the ropes were joined together (see photos) would be gratefully received.

    cheers....mick

The shrouds of the La Creole for the mizzenmast had a diameter of 58 mm, which corresponds to a diameter of 1.2 mm on a scale of 1:48. The foremost shrouds were not served in this case.
Thus I have set all shrouds so far.
    Here are a few pictures.

Finally, a picture of the current state of construction.

    Hi Paul,
    thanks for the positive comment,
and thanks to the others for the LIKES.

The size of the blocks depends on the diameter of the rope, as stated by J. Boudriot.

The production of the blocks, I do the following

    Dear friends,
I am very grateful for your kind words and support. Thank you Valeriy, Druxey, Jorge and Keith four your comments. I am pleased you like my work.

Well, this first piece took me about four hours, but I have improved the procedure and make more cannons together, so now I can save almost half the time.

Yes, of course. I am posting plenty of pics from the process below and believe, you will understand how I achieve these results.

I use various thickness of photo paper and shape it over steam.

And here you can see, how I improved the first cannon using weathering. There were also created some details to achieve more realistic result according the real guns from that period.

    Hello again shipmates.

I have now finished the upper planking, this will be filled and sanded down when the lower planking has been glued in place.

I am so excited in building this little IL Leudo, it's looking like a ship now.

Can I blow my own trumpet, well I am going to anyway, I think she is looking shipshape (sorry about the pun).

    Jo.

Thanks guys! xken, luckily the plans are for reference as far as I can see so the size issue isn't stopping the build. I only find it odd because I have built dozens of RC planes over the years and never ran into plans that weren't to the scale of the model. Anyway the show goes on!

After the last plank went down I removed the keel and sanded the hull to close to where it needed to be. Once satisfied I reinstalled the keel. I've been using Titebond 2 for everything aside from the planks and that's what I used to permanently attach the keeI. I did add a couple of short lengths 1/8" x 1/8" stock to register the keel at the bow, those will be removed later.

With the majority of the sanding done I decided not to paint the lower hull. I wasn't 100% confident that the planking in the stern area wouldn't require some filler, since it didn't I moved forward with tree nails on the entire hull. It was actually seeing all the models on this forum with tree nails that got me reinterested in building some boats.

    Thank you Alexander,
    for your positive response.

And here it goes on with small steps:
The ropes for the boomkin shrouds were served and the other part prepared.

The first boomkin shroud was set and the shoulder block at the end of the boomkin was attached.

The masts are ready with all their equipment. I want to emphasize that the foremast incorporates a wind vane in its crowning. Another aspect on which I draw your attention is the network which appears in one of the two coves situated for this purpose behind the mainmast. In this case, I took the license to dye the net greenish, to accentuate the contrast. Although the model goes up the masts upright, on one of the photos that I present, the mainmast is shot, to see how the boat would be able to fish.

The last 18-pounder for the French Corvette will be ready-rigged on the sample.

    hi all
hms triton cross section is now finished!
i havnt rigged the training tackles.
i like the model in its simple uncluttered form.
the relieving tackles were never going to be fitted as ive left the deck planks off to help show the deck construction.....this was a contributing factor in not fitting the rest of the tackles.
i have however fitted the stanchions and rails around the hatchway.....pretty much a direct lift from the swan class practicum.
once again thanks to all the staff and moderators whose work in preparing the plans made my humble attempt even possible!
    final photos enclosed.
    cheers....mick
