  1. Someone really hit their head at that company with this price...
  2. that was the questions intent I'm hoping the "fun" will be fun and no irony
  3. no means no objections ? PS: i received confirmation that the Bulkheads are already cut, shipping out on Monday
  4. just a heads up on this, Customs is always paid at the receiving end, also Tax etc, the Sender has only to declare a package value and then when it arrives (in Europe for instance) then the Customs Office of receiving country calculates Customs Fee + VAT Tax based on this and asks the Receiving Person to pay it if the want the package delivered
  5. Actually i live 200km from Amsterdam and we plan a trip to the Sea
  6. I didnt mean the weight but the stability - like someone knocking over the shelf or moving it to clean behind it I'd ask them to secure it properly
  7. i decided to plan for now same camber on QD and FC - i'm getting those beams laser-cut but if at any stage i decide otherwise, i'll just make new ones the traditional way, there\s a looong way before i am even close to fitting the top decks Same for the Hanging knees. As for the Stern Timbers i am fairly certian that i guessed it right (at least if i'm judging correctly from SternParts.pdf) As for my progress, i sent the redrawn bulkhead plans for laser cutting and as soon as 6mm plywood will be restocked, they will be cut for me i like your Basswood fillers btw Might go similar on some parts I'm making my life miserable - i actually plan to populate the lower deck
  8. The model looks great but those shelves - i'd have my doubts
  9. Hello, I am planning to build the Triton in 1:64 with the POB Plans, i am at the moment redrawing some of the plans in AutoCAD to prepare them for laser-cutting (yes, i am lazy :P). Just have a few questions if someone maybe can answer them: 1. Quarterdeck and FC Beam Camber - is it the same as for the Gundeck or does anyone have a plan which is showing this ? 2. Hanging knees for QD and FC - i am planning to make the same as for the Gundeck - any objections ? 3. Stern Timbers - to what are they attached (on top of the wing transom ?) I assume a lot of more questions will come up later but at this stage i am trying to find out what i have to cut from what wood in order to start Oh, Materials ordered and Building Slip prepared (some lime for the first planking and other wood just to start):
  10. Look, Daniel bought the rights to the designs from Mamoli, including their instructions, he is doing his best to update the kits with corrections which make them easier to build. The instructions are in Italian, translated to Spanish, English and German, the parts list are completely in Italian, you will not get away without Google Translate to be honest. I am now doing one of Daniel's updated kit, the USS Constitution Cross-Section, this is my first Wooden build and first model ship at all (i dont count the earlier attempt with the Revell Connie kit) and although the instructions are bad, with help of common logic, MSW and online resources i think that i am doing pretty well (apart from the obvious mistakes i do which are not related to any kit: improper tools, lack of patience with proper sanding, bad painting technique caused mostly by using paints which are not meant for this task, general lack of patience etc.) Daniel wants to focus on releasing the whole Mamoli Catalogue with corrected parts first and then i believe he will be able to sit on the instructions - making instructions step-by-step would mean he has to actually build the kit (or have it built by someone) to make pictures
  11. Shot racks and buckets in place, other side still left to do and i'll be able to close the gundeck finally...
  12. Yes i saw the Swan class, although started playing around in AutoCAD with the Triton plans - lets See how it Will turn out. First comes the Surprise tho - i really want to build a frigate first
  13. Exactly, cant complain about the wood, some stuff was redone and Daniel is always willing to send parts if something is missing, also it's nice communicating with him on any topic. DusekShipKits > Mamoli
  14. @Calhoun Zabel good start Yes, ship terminology is needed indeed Standing rigging: all those lines which are holding the masts in place (usually black) and they are not moved during sailing, although in your case i see the backstays are not black, backstays on your model=those 2 lines running from mast tops to ship sides behind the shrouds, shrouds=those with the "ladders" (ratlines) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_rigging Anything which is not supposed to be changed by the sailors during a cruise Running rigging is everything which is movable and is used to position the yards, hoist sails etc. Deadeyes = the round wooden thingies with 3 holes on ship sides which the shrouds and backstays connect to (via lanyards) Everything else are just rigging blocks The swabbing is a good job
