Hi Grant and Sherry, Thank you both I'm pleased so far and almost feel sorry to put he into dry dock…... I think when I go further on the SI, I can do the rigging at the same time with the Le Mirage. Not 25.00 ratlines but 50.000 ratlines at the same time……... No, I don't think so. I'm gonna be crazy then!

Hi Popeye, For you also the answer to your question, Here it is... All is dry fitted because I need to make the samson post and I still have no lathe. This will be the last update for a while for the San Ildefonso. She goes into dry dock and back to the Le Mirage.

Here is a little update. The gratings are finished and have to go on the deck. When that is done and I dry fit all the deck furniture I shall make other pictures and then the San Ildefonso is going into dry dock for a while. I go then back to the Le Mirage.

ROYAL CAROLINE 1749 by Doris - 1:40 - CARD
Sjors replied to DORIS's topic in - Build logs for subjects built 1501 - 1750
Hi Doris, Anja (my wife) is telling me that I have to take a look at your build. So here I'am…. She don't say to much. This is an incredible, amazing and wonderful build. It's hard to believe that this is card. When I was young ( few years ago) I can make a paper plane and that's it. I didn't know that there was also a possibility to make ships from card. A specially the ships you are creating. Are you for sure you are from this planet???? I will follow this journey to the end. Thanks for showing me this!- 883 replies

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
