I don't want to interfere in this discussion but you are right Andy. I think that's because everybody has to re-post his/her build, and now you can easier follow a build from start. We all had to start all over again. That creates a bond. And even If I talk to much I think it is an expression of my feelings that I'm happy to see all those builders (old friends and new) back on track. We live in different parts of the world, but together we make it a small world. Thank you guys and gals for the fun, the serious talks and all the help during my build(s) . Sjors

Hi Jared, It looks good but one question…... Is the helm stick not to high? I mean that he goes to far upwards. Maybe that's the way, but when I not asking something, I never know…. Sjors

Hi John, Thanks, this is what I mean. I shall try to explain it, In your previous picture that you post, when you look to the stairs, there is a strange angel, It just like if it is twisted. When you look at the last picture, everything is just right I hope that you now understand what i mean. If not, please tell me and I send you a PM in Dutch. Sjors

Nice John, Now you know what kind of problems I have with my 2 mm thick planks on the hull of the SI. The stairs are looking great. Question, can you make a picture for me from the wave catcher to the bow? The picture you post it looks strange Sjors

Hi Garward, You are right again. When you gonna make a movie of your build, it takes a couple of hours watching that movie. But i don't mind I'll be gonna sitting on the couch when Anja is at work and I enjoy……. To bad the site is not available anymore. I think when you can see those builds in detail, you see a lot more. But thanks for posting. Sjors -

I understand what you mean but what I want to say is this: Are you also make a little movie of your own build. When I see those builds and yours, I know that you make a lot of modifications on the kit. And that is great but they have also make a great build. Even it is not historically correct. Maybe they row with the oars they have ( I hope you know that expression) I know that I don't change the metal things in the kit. I have not the tools or the skills to do that. Maybe one day when I go to the dark side I learn it. But not for this moment. I'm still enjoy your post! And I can learn from it. Thanks for the detail posting my friend! Sjors -

Hi Sherry, I thought you give me an call when you get started…... Now I found out to someone else build log that you started a beautiful project…. Can you ask Mark and Augie to go a little away so I can sit first row to watch you? Mark has a small package of popcorn ,so is it oke when I put the popcorn maker in the corner ? And in the other corner a hotdog stall? I wish you all the luck with this challenge and I will follow your progress. The start is good so I think that you can bring this to a good end. Sjors p.s Here are the to stalls….you have to see where you put them.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
