  1. Congratulations, pat! She looks magnificent on the water. I especially like that low angle image from the port quarter. John
  2. Great to see this beautiful build progressing, mate! John
  3. Looks like she'll make a very nice model, David. In your search, did you find the web site, https://srcmbc.org.uk/2020/06/21/brannaren-a-baltic-coastal-tanker/ John
  4. Every workshop should have a range of shipping tube clamps! 😀 Very nice work, Paul. John
  5. Deck fittings can be such fun, Phil (or not!). 🙂 John
  6. Thanks again for your guide to making these boats, Ilhan. That's a very accurate way of getting the ribs positioned correctly. John
  7. Thanks Nils. I'm finding that the rigging of a four master just seems to go on for ever! 🙂 John
  8. Lovely work (as usual) on those rigging components, Siggi! John
  9. We can see that she's growing. Keep at it, she looks great! John
  10. I use a hot iron on my silkspan sails, under a piece of baking paper and moving the iron quickly across the paper. John
  11. Hello, and a warm welcome to the forum from 'Down Under'. John
  12. Thanks for the positive feedback on the sails, Keith. It really helps! Thanks Paul: I think you're right, but I'm afraid I would really like to see her finished and in a proper display case. Visitors keep saying I must have amazing patience, but sometimes I wonder. 🙂 And a warm thankyou to all those who have attached 'likes'! John
  13. A little more progress on the 'Duchess'. All six yards are now crossed on the mainmast, so that leaves only six more square sails to rig. When I look at the model now, I sometimes think that she's getting towards completion; then I remember ratlines, braces, staysail sheets and deck details to complete and go back to wondering whether she'll ever get there! 😉 John
  14. A first class pictorial tutorial on your method of making vacuum formed boats, Ilhan. Thanks for that! John
