Alright Mate.. Am lookin' forward to this.. ! You seem to be fairly advanced already just remember what the guys were saying about locating the Gun Port Pattern (bulwark template ) thingy at the right height for the Aft Most Guns, especially if your planking (deck) is a bit thicker than the stuff supplied with the kit.. I reckon you'll be finished before I even lay the keel All The Very Beat Bud Eamonn

Hi Paul.. It was just a bit of fun I had after posting many many photos of my Ballahoo build either full of Pins, Clothes Pegs and/or various Clamps holding planking in place.. you could hardly even see the boat under them at times .. so silly humour that I have I made a joke Magazine Cover for aficionados of Pins Pegs & Clamps (discretely packaged to your door of course ) Eamonn

Hey There Kester.. Thanks for the Compliment.. I'm all blushing over here The Large GunPorts were to accommodate the Kit supplied guns (as per the plans).. the kit guns are way too big for what they were meant to represent so I upgraded to proper scale ones, which are literally half the size (see photo) .. alas I already cut the ports out (this is early on in the build remember) All The Best Eamonn

Thanks Frank, it's good to have the hull the right way up again after my 'revisit' to the waterline ! And Thanks for the Likes too Folks ! I was originally going to put the Chimney just aft of the Fore Mast (immediately behind the rings) but felt that it looked slightly better where it is now as this area would be fairly 'empty' otherwise (aside from the Pumps of course) Wait 'till you see.. something important will have to go there now that I've forgotten about.. the Radar Antenna or something .. OK Folks I got a little bit more done today.. The Chimney is now fixed in place, and I made up some eyelets/rings for around the Masts (they have been chemically blackened) Not much of an update I know.. but sure it keeps the ball rollin' All The Best Eamonn BTW the Mast 'Coats' (or wedges wotever) are only dry fitted as I haven't made up my mind whether to put 'canvas' on them or not.

Thanks Frank.. Those Frikkin' Chains were nearly the Death of Me.. ^_^ ( Tip of the Day.. try to assemble them OFF the boat.. then drill your holes for the 'eyebolts' and glue in place.. I I put the eyebolts in place then had to try attach the Rings & Chains to them .. Ahhhhhhhhhhh etc) I can also see the potential benefit of one of those 'Keel Clamp' affairs.. I had to do the chains with the hull upside down, not ideal I assure you It was worth it though as I'm well pleased with the result Eamonn

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
