Gentlemen, Thank you very much for looking in and the nice comments. I Love This Place All the treenails in the frames are done. so getting ready to raise the frames. I have found 3 advantages so far at building at this bigger scale 1. It is not nearly so hard on my eyes 2. The treenail are alot bigger....don't have to keep breaking them while pulling through the drawplate to the smaller size 3. I can use my regular size powertools on this build such as my sanders This is my detail sander, sanding the side before raising with a 320 grit, making sure the treenail are even With that done I started raising the first frame "C" Was wanting to make sure the build board was square to the base first After that I clamped it in place to make sure it did not move I first test fitted the frame adjusting the keel notch slightly with a sanding stick (cheap fingernail file) Glued it in place and clamped it to the face board Then check for squareness again Rest of the frames waiting to be raised Now I have a Question for you.....Would you wait to pin (treenail) the frame to the keel after all frames are in place or would it be better to pin each frame as I go. Also..Since this is a bigger scale I thought about using 2 treenails per frame maybe pin at slight angles to each other. This would prevent any movement at all. Please voice your opinion. Thanks

For the false keel you could go either way, going with cherry/cherry simulate your caulking to show. Going with cherry/african blackwood no caulking needed. I kinda lean toward the african blackwood...it just gives it something....but if you go this way how to you plan to display it. If going this way display it so it can been seen You gonna use a cradle, mount flat to baseboard or use some standoffs and have it up off the baseboard a little...something to think on. Either way you go it will look great Happy desision making

Beautiful job on your build. I had forgotten how nice a job you have done on this. It is looking great. This will be one of the best Sultana build there is. Something for the rest of the builders to try an accomplish. Keep up the great work and thanks for reposting

Aldo Welcome to the Triton build. You will get a lot of great help here. As far as a simplified approach....it is your ship....build it the way you want....there is no wrong or right way

Very nice "restart" to your build. That cherry is real nice and the v-groove looks straight and clean...Great job I am sure you will be much happier with the cherry.

Still working on the treenail for the frames,,,only 2 more to go.... When I get one frame done and the treenails trimmed I have been getting ready to raise the frames on the build board. Pictures are a better explanation: I glue a tempory batten arcoss the top using the framing layout pdf to get the correct distance from side to side at the top I then mark the center of the temporary batten to match up to the center mark on my build board Also have been marking the center of the frames at the keel also as a way to double check Here is one temporary place to see how it is going to work out Once all the frames are raised and attached to the keel I plan on cutting some support from cherry to go between the frames while fairing the hull. I may leave them in since will be planking over where I place them. Everyone have a Happy Easter

You should see my toolbox at work. Maintenance on cnc machinery and metal parts fabrication. We have machine built in america from the 1940's to present, then we also have machines from Japan, Germany, England, Australia, Sweden, China, Taiwan, just to name a few. Some were partially built overseas then finished here, makes it a real nightmare to work on them

Paddy, seen your post on MSB in my log. I used a dremel tool (metal cutting disc) to make my scraper for the notch. If you use this method, make sure to wear eye protection and clamp the razor up in some sort of clamp....Good luck
