Hi Vince
I agree with Gary: When I can see, how something works I understand it much quicker than just with words... So thank you for this lesson to second planking. I will try it out with my next model.

Hi Joe,
great Job on the cannons. I just startet the rigging of my cannons on the Royal Caroline. Ist the first time I do this rigging - and... wow... it is a challenge. I try to find out the best way for a practical work Routine on the different ropes. It is a fiddly fumbling with tweezers, glue, knots and many lost nervs... But at least it will work :D

Hello my friends and fellow followers
Well, the fun with my Caroline goes on. After my Holidays with my dog I did continue to build up the deck furniture and to prepare eg the cannons and anchors. But at the Moment I have to wait for additional parts like double-blocks for the cannon rigging, for some Wood as I want to create my own chain-wales. I ordered the parts but they are not delivered. But I expect to get them today. The cannons come out quite good, I did burnish the brass muzzles.
Next will be to seal the decks with a semi-gloss colorless lacquer before I install the cannons and do the cannon rigging.
It is so nice and satisfying to build this kit...
Have a nice time
Best wished ... and: Cheerio

Hi Testazyk,
the more I see the more I wish to buy this kit. Doing my Caroline gives me the hope to get along with the San Felipe (not as next model but in a not so far future )
Very nice and impressing model what you built

Hello my friends,
I am back again. I had a wonderful Relaxing time with my Mila in the Austrian Alps (Pic 2). Perfect weather conditions, time for hiking, sitting on the balcony and watch the mountains, just doing nothing but enjoy (Pic 1) .... But this time has gone now, and my shipyards waiting for me. So I will continue with my Royal Caroline the next days. Still have to manage the gun rigging.
So best wishes to all of you
CU soon

Hi Vivian, such a beautiful build... I love the lights, they give a perfect mood... You can hear the sea on the shore, smell the salty wind, hmmm... some full moon - and you can almost come to a kind of romantic feelings
Serious again... Very nice model

To all my friends an fellow followers
I am away for some days, a week, as I go to the Austrian Alps to a mountain hut... Just me and my Little dog called Mila. We will be there, hiking, relaxing, no Internet, no TV, no Computer. I will take along James Cooks Logbooks, an Atlas with sea maps... and a handful of dreams.
CU all later

Hi Andy,
there were at least four sailingsships called Wapen von Hamburg (originally only one "p"), first one built 1669, last one 1740. You can find more Infos on Wikipedia (I am afraid only in German available). The ships were ordered by the rich Hamburg trading families to protect the freightships.
Corels WvH is the No 2, built about 1684

Hi boys,
I also use that kind of boiler... was not so easy to get it out of the kitchen to my shipyard... My wife was a bit angry... so I got to the store and bought a new one ... stainless
So you see... modelling has an advantage to every one...

Hi David...
Yes I enjoy this build very much. Although there are some little traps on the way - as probably with every kit - things go good and very nice.
I look forward to watch your log asap

Hello my friends
just a little update from the past few days. I just build up the deck furniture (?) like the different bits, chimney, gratings, stairs etc...
Now as I learned a method to "carve" the bollards I am quite satisfied with the result. I use a triangle file and not longer a knife. I am sure you guys just laugh about my "discovery" - but I found out this by myself... almost a little bit proud *blush* :D
The last three pics are somehow experimental as I love to play with photos/photography. Perhaps they look a bit strange... hope you dont mind
I am on tour with my Caroline for almost five months now (approx 250 hrs minimum)
Cheerio, cu - and as always: Comments are welcome as I want to get better...

Hi,
in Germany you pay for a Metzenbaum with 30 cm length about 13 Euro (19 Aus Dollar) by Amazon. Expensive is the shipment to Down under But I am sure you will find an offer like this in Australia too

Hi,
I found a lot of helpful tools - also from dentists need which use perfect shaped hooks - by ebay. Its always a treasure trove for anything. But of course I cannot speak about Australian ebay - and the shipping from Europe to Australia makes all price almot unpayable

Hi Andy
this are great news. So I can use your instruction sheets for my build - if it ison time someday. Hope you dont mind BTW I visite Xandras page too and I am very deep impressed by all the painting she does and all the scratch esp for the galion. What an artist this woman is. Does anyone know why she did not do the rigging? or did I miss anything?

Hello my friends,
it is time for a very small update. I am doing the cannon rigging at the Moment - and well: It is a fiddly fumbling. Nevertheless I am sure I will get along with it. The instructions provided with teh kit do not Show the rigging and so I went along in the Forums an found quite a lot of helpful advices. I will try to turn them into reality. I attached some pice to Show you my first attempts. I hope the results can be called ok although I know that the results are not as good as many others I saw. But I am still learning There are no coils there, I will do them at the end. So please dont be too critical with my guns , but help me with some hints to make it better.
The last pics Show the anchors - first with a mistake I made - thank you AVBiker for your mail - an my repair of the mishap.
@schnu The breed is called Segugiuo Italiano - hunting Dogs from Italy for rabbits. But I am not a hunter and my Little Girl Comes from the animal welfare.
Yes she is a Beauty - and her nature is as beautiful as her Body.
Thanks for your Attention
Cheerio - and a happy weekend
