  1. Welcome to MSW. Answers to a couple of questions would help.... which ship? I'm not sure what 0.0115 scale is... do you have the more standard type of scale like 1:48, 1:30, etc.?
  2. If that's the one I'm thinking of, it's do a lot of airshows and sometimes with an "adversary" F-86. The last airshow Medford had there was a dogfight between them.
  3. Welcome back, Alexander. I'm looking forward to seeing your log on this ship. I just found it... need to go see.
  4. Beautiful work, Pat. Well done. It might be easier to just "fake it" on the clapper rope. Remove the clapper completely and just hang a stiffened rope down.
  5. Good to see you back, Scott, even if only for a little bit.
  6. Air brushing or hand painting... the size still makes my eyes hurt. That is some excellent work in the paint shop, Greg.
  7. What fun would it be if there were no "aha!!!" moments?
  8. He was last on this past weekend. I hope he lets us know what's going on with this project.
  9. I went ahead and moved it to the Non-Ship Builds area.
  10. Excellent research and result, Pat. Looking at the model at it's current state, I think it'll fit right in to the flavor of the ship.
  11. Respect to you, OC. You are good. I've always had to put something on the floors "just in case".
  12. First rule, Dennis... keep the Admiralty happy. We'll see you when you're done and she's smiling again.
  13. That sounds like a job and a half, OC. I understand about our bodies yelling at us... Mine's been screaming a lot lately. How small is the brush? Not one you use for your figures I hope. Many decades ago I did housepainting but decided it wasn't the career path I wanted. Anyway, the head guy showed me how to use a 4" and 6" wide brush on trip without taping and without splattering paint all over. It's helped me over the years whenever I had to paint a house.
  14. Sorry to hear about the back ache, OC. Seems that the back does us all in at some point.
  15. As for a mill being used as a drill press, the LittleMachineShop has some mills already set up for this. I have the Model 4660 and it has that capability.
  16. I can't speak to earlier than the 1700's but from the on they were carved as part of the decorations and fixed to the stern.
  17. Hank, welcome to MSW. I too will be looking forward to seeing your work so hopefully you will start a build log.
  18. Fascinating. Don't worry about talking too much, it's giving us an education. I am curious about something and maybe I missed the explanation... to the side of the structure at about the same area as the stack is open compartment. Looks like logs or something in there. Can you tell me what is in there? Same for the opening aft.
  19. Keith, if you go to the Syren Ship Model Fittings, he has the carriages. The carriage kits (there's 4 sizes) will tell you which cannon fits so you'll have to open each one to see which cannon(s) fit.
  20. Yet another work of art. Inspiring to see what can be done.
  21. I note the "family critter" bed next to it in the photo. I'll assume that you'll figure out a way to keep said critter out of the case when you have it open.
  22. Hi Keith. Measure the length of the guns you have with the kit and then match those as close as you can to the Syren offerings. I've used that method myself for non-kits and it works out well.
  23. Unless the top or back comes off, that might very well be necessary, Pat.
