  1. Hi Ed! Wonderful model! Congratulations and many thanks for sharing.
  2. Hello, many thanks to you all for the LIKES. Currently I am still working on the shrouds of the mainmast. For this I show some pictures serving the shrouds and attaching of the dead eyes. Furthermore, you can see a comparsion with an original seizing Here are some pictures of the current status:
  3. Hello Eberhard, that is very fine model making. In this scale with this precision to produce the details, deserves all respect.
  4. Hello friends, thanks a lot for the nice comments and the LIKES. On my rope walk I made the shrouds as hawser laid rope. The dimensions for the shrouds I take from Information from the monograph by J. Bourdriot and made a list. The first shrouds on the main mast are set. It is important that the distance between the dead eyes is usually 2 x distance dead eyes.
  5. Hi Steve and Hans Christian, thank you for your extremely nice comments. That does very well and motivates enormously. And I would like to thank all the others for the many LIKES. With a small detail it continues here. The catblock has a very large hook so that the anchor can be fished. Quelle: Tafel 212 des Atlas du Génie Maritime
  6. The ropes for the hammock cranes have to be tensioned. I did that with tiny thimbles Ø 1,1 mm and lashings. The thimbles on the next image have the following diameter from left to right: Ø 1,1 mm Ø 2,2 mm Ø 2,6 mm The first attempts with seizings are not very nice. With a "fake splice" it looks better?
  7. I follow the very impressive work with great interest and I'm looking forward to the sequel.
  8. Hi Paul, thanks for the positive comment, and thanks to the others for the LIKES. The size of the blocks depends on the diameter of the rope, as stated by J. Boudriot. The production of the blocks, I do the following schema: Quelle: Musée de la Marine Paris – La Crèole
  9. The standing rigging looks fantastic. The complete model is wonderful.
  10. This is an interesting Project!
  11. Finally a French ship again. I'm very interested in that.
  12. Hello friends of model making, I still had to complete the rudder pendants. For this I needed served ropes and thimbles.
  13. Hi Ferit, thank you for your interest and the other thanks for the LIKES. Meanwhile, the second bowsprit gammoning was completed.
  14. Hello, thank you very much for the LIKES. Currently I do the bowsprit gammoning. The left handed ropes with a diameter of 0.9 mm were made on my own rope walk. At the respective end an eye was spliced. Here is the order for attaching the bowsprit gammoning: Quelle: Mondfeld - Historical Ship Models
  15. Thanks for the many LIKES. The bowsprit shrouds and the preventer-bobstay with chain have been completet in the meantime. The bowsprit shrouds with eye splices, the bobstays and the preventer-bobstay with chain were installed so far. The lashings are only made firm if everything fits. The bobstays are covered with leather. The conclusion of the leather coats was secured with a closed band.
