  1. Silkspan is what stick-and-tissue airplane modelers cover their models with. Perhaps a hobby store might carry it. Here is a photo of Sultana with silkspan sails.
  2. So after much thinner, rubbing, scraping and sanding, a coat of primer, more sanding, and a spray tan, the result is much more pleasing.
  3. I believe they are called mast trucks, and would have a sheave in them for the flag halyards. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truck_(rigging)
  4. To me it looks like some filler should do the trick. The fatter bulwark will be hidden by the caprail, perhaps it will need to be a bit wider. No-one is going to take a ruler to your model an critique it. " putty and paint....makes it look like what it ain't"

  6. #1-Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement. #2- Experience is what you get right after you needed it.
  7. The pin vise we sell is good for drills down to #75. Smaller than that I use a Dremel universal chuck.
  8. Nothing looks better than even battens. We are now putting them in the Bowdoin, Pauline, and Charles Notman. And the Wyoming when it is finished.
  9. by all means do a build log of your Swampscott dory. When you finish, I will give you a 10% discount on the next kit you buy from us.
  10. Yes, that would be interesting - Justin is a good friend of mine. However, my purpose is to make a display model for our gallery. It will have a water base, but not a real diorama.
