  1. Lou stays in the rafters as he gets the best view looking over our heads - plus he is closest to the "Heads" OC.
  2. Evening all - next on my build was a stage that I thought was going to be difficult - the engine covers, these little beauties have little mesh screens fitted into them - this is done (in principle) by using a paper template and cutting the mash to fit then glueing them into the gaps - "No Way" was this going to happen - as we know mesh is akward when trying to cut through the threads, so my idea and plan was to fit them each in Two sections inside the covers using the glue to hold them in place. So about Two hours later I have created Two engine covers - and glued in place. OC.
  3. Tom If that was me I think I would use different gradients of sand paper to shape the hull/tower - starting with a medium/coarse and going through to a very fine one - as you need to keep that wood as smooth and splinter free as possible, after that you could lock in the wood grain with a presever before detailing and painting. I suggest sandpapers as tools like rasps/coarse files can be a bit to rough and tear at the wood. Hope that helps a bit mate. OC.
  4. A bit more progress please find the winch, needs a bit of tidy up. fiddly thing to fit without guide holes etc. OC.
  5. Evening all, I managed to get the bottom of the wokka finished today - this consisted of plenty of blade aerials and the Three cargo hooks, the center one that can carry the most weight is folded up when on the ground (on mine) need to be careful not to knock any of these off while handling her. OC.

  12. Thank you Mark,, I was reading a small article the other day about ACH47s Wow they looked the business almost like AC130 Spooky's in heli form. Yep our little princess is doing better - still on the couch "Feed me dady - I'm too poorly to move" think she is milking it a bit now though. OC.

  16. Very nice work mate - with the shrouds I made mine the same colour for all, and with the spacing of the deadeyes I used some thick wire with a 90deg bend at each end - I used this to attach at both ends to try to get an even gap between the "Eyes" OC.
