  1. Great work Kevin, do the bricks strengthen the assemblies up much - give them some rigidity? OC.
  2. Evening to my band of following dudes and all who look over my little workflow - so I have started and completed the maksing ready for the primer/paint layers, the main entrance door was straight forward just Two doors joined together with tape then pushed inplace and held behind with blue tack, the other side window was covered with card and tape - the rear ramp area was covered with paper and tape and the upper ramp door secured with blue tack and tape and finaly the gearbox cutout has had some sponge pushed inside - so alreadfy now. OC.
  3. Thanks Ken, much appreciated mate, was you able to fly an F4 on one engine if you had to shut down the other re - bird strike? OC.

  5. I remember the dust boxes that were fitted to S - 61 Sea Kings - I think related to when they went out to the Kuwait/ Iraq areas, I think they were not just screens but actual filters - they looked powerd as they were a physical box. OC.
  6. So - next to be done (1 paint/weather and attach the rear ramp, (2 temporary fit the upper rear ramp door using blue tack (3 temporary blank the open window on the other side (4 temporary fit the side entrance / Two stage doors with blue tack (5 temporary blank the rear ramp opening with paper/blue tack/tape (6 when all openings are secure - do a couple of primer rattle can pases (7 check the finish (8 If all is ok with the primer finish - start the Green colour coats again using rattle cans. OC.

  8. Lou stays in the rafters as he gets the best view looking over our heads - plus he is closest to the "Heads" OC.
  9. Evening all - next on my build was a stage that I thought was going to be difficult - the engine covers, these little beauties have little mesh screens fitted into them - this is done (in principle) by using a paper template and cutting the mash to fit then glueing them into the gaps - "No Way" was this going to happen - as we know mesh is akward when trying to cut through the threads, so my idea and plan was to fit them each in Two sections inside the covers using the glue to hold them in place. So about Two hours later I have created Two engine covers - and glued in place. OC.
  10. Tom If that was me I think I would use different gradients of sand paper to shape the hull/tower - starting with a medium/coarse and going through to a very fine one - as you need to keep that wood as smooth and splinter free as possible, after that you could lock in the wood grain with a presever before detailing and painting. I suggest sandpapers as tools like rasps/coarse files can be a bit to rough and tear at the wood. Hope that helps a bit mate. OC.
  11. A bit more progress please find the winch, needs a bit of tidy up. fiddly thing to fit without guide holes etc. OC.
  12. Evening all, I managed to get the bottom of the wokka finished today - this consisted of plenty of blade aerials and the Three cargo hooks, the center one that can carry the most weight is folded up when on the ground (on mine) need to be careful not to knock any of these off while handling her. OC.
