  2. Thanks a lot for all of your comments gentlemen.I sure have learnt a lot for next time.Scratching my head a lot on plan sheet 6 but think it's right.
  3. Thats right Popeye,The guys who repair the stay sails came with a donkey cart yesterday to pick them up,he was shaking his head at the condition of them so could be a long repair, dragging on and on like the Americas cup.
  4. Frank they look great where they are,the people that will see it and my mistakes won't know it.
  5. Hi Popeye,is the spanker the sail at the back?Do the stay sails go on the bow sprit? If they do i think they are the ones in the repair shop.
  6. Thanks Denis, thats just going by the plan,i read about that somewhere as well.Ron.

  12. Hi Denis i will be doing a log for the Endeavour a long way off yet though.
  13. Thanks Denis,it's got a lot of faults close up but hopefully i can improve for the next one.I've got another one waiting patiently in the wardrobe. The Occre Endeavour for a good deal about half the price we can get it for here. But now Cornwall model boats have it for a good price. The Occre instructions i have had before are great lots of detail.
  14. Thanks Alistair, don't hesitate on having a go at it.I'm having a go being a complete amateur at all of this and my first sailing ship.
  15. Ok this is the finished yard, next one i'll use less sail to open it out more between tie down ropes and get the sides narrower against the yard. One down 6 to go plus gaffs.
  16. Thanks Popeye,it is the same yard just a bigger sail and a new rope walk. The old rope walk was to stiff with glue and too long. The wider yards should look better as well.Once you get the technique for one new job the rest is easy just like the rest of the ship,as you know.
  17. Good one Popeye,i wondered what tea people used,i guess whatever is in the cupboard.Mine will be Kenya gold from Kericho,Kenya and Dilmah from Sri Lanka, you can heat it up to drink it when you've finished with it as well.
  18. Endeavour replica furled sails look compact.
  19. Here is an article for referance for sails. ScaleSails.pdf
  20. Thanks Popeye,I'm just doing a dry fit of the yards for the photos then trying furled sails. What do people think of the one i have done, needs more tea stain. If that still leaves a white patch i'll stain some more Calico Denis Pink kindly gave me from Auckland,Ron.
  21. Good job on your deadeyes Doug, nice and level,i was glad to finnish those 3.5mm ones, difficult alright.I had most of my mast bending from about half way up,another thing to watch on the next one.
