Hello Patrick As far as I can see you will have to do exactly what you say, remove the styrene waterline, fit a new water line and infil up over. It should not be very hard at all. We're the tiles run up to the waterline at the bow and stern, I would think the last part tile of each row would need to be removed and then start to infil up over to the new waterline again. The tiles that are level or levelish but not a full tile ( narrowed off ) can be removed were necessary and again Infilled up over if you understand. In reality you are going to have to build up over, and I reckon it will be no prob for you. And I would bet you will never be able to see were things went wrong. DAVID

So I wish the best of luck with your build and leave you with Michael, and soon all your new friends who will be with you soon. Kevin Come on Kevin what's going on here?. I don't think you have taken on to much. . If you have then I definitely have.. You are reaching what I would say is going to be the most enjoyable phase of your build, the masts and rigging, and you have had no probs with your build up to now. I do remember a while a while back I made mistake on my bowsprit, and was informed that it needed altering. Your input was , "that's what I love about MSW mistakes made and possible solutions" I asked Lawrence if he was sure about painting he's gallery's blue and not black, you said "they will be a pain to change" Lawrence changed them to black and was grateful for your input. The build is not to big for you, I would ask one question though, are you sure about the closed gunports, because they will NOT be a pain to change. I look forward to following your progress as I always have. Regards DAVID

Greetings all Well I have still not started on my rigging. I would like to use bullseyes on the pendants. I am not sure if that is the correct term for them, but that is what Gil Middleton calls them. I don't like the idea of just having a plain cotton loop, it does not very good at all. I cannot track them down anywhere. I have tried Cornwall model boats and a few others but alas no joy. Does anybody know we're I might get hold of them. Thanks a lot DAVID

Hello yon Thanks a lot yon , I think I am going to need a bit of luck at times. I know there will always be help to hand should I need it on MSW. I have already been given advice from grant, and as I say will need it. At this time my aim is to fit the tackle/burton pendants ( hangy. down things ) to be technical, this is on page 12 of your masts and rigging manual. And then fit all the shrouds. And so that is my plan for the next few weeks or however long. That is as far ahead as I have looked. Anyway it's good to see you back, were on earth have you been!!?? Be good and enjoy your build DAVID

Thanks everybody Grant. I do have longbridges anatomy of Nelson's ships plus lennarth peterssons book on rigging, so I am off and running with the rigging, alas not quite as I have found two of my dead eyes on one of the channels out of position, they only need switching around. I will start with the pendants as I said earlier, and report in when they are fitted. Thanks a lot for your advice. DAVID

Greetings all Well I have completed the fitting of all the blocks on all three masts, and spend quite a while checking for any blockages in the holes on all blocks and deadeyes , and did have to clear a few, I also had to replace one of the deadeyes which I damaged when clearing the hole that was blocked. There are a few cleats to fit on the base of the main mast and mizzen. The last thing I did was fit all three hand rails.so as far as I can see the masts are ready to fit in place. The bowsprit can be fitted now, but I am a bit wary about it, and have broken it twice now, by having it in place when there no need at all for it to be there. The rigging of the bowsprit looks a bit daunting to me, as I have said I am now in no mans land, I did note that grant and Gil mid started with the bowsprit first. The manual says the tackle pendants are first, followed by the lower mast shrouds. I have just bought a book on rigging by lennarth Peterson who refers to the tackle pendants as burton pendants whereas the jotika manual refers to them as tackle pendants and only the mizzen mast having burton pendants, so the novice is confused immediately. Any way I think I will start with the pendants ( tackle or burton ) the picture will do, then the lower shrouds which are pretty well detailed, ( he says hopefully). And with a bit of luck I should cotton on to things (get it !!) ......all advice no matter what is most welcome during this work, just stop me if I go, sorry when I go wrong.. You never know this could be enjoyable. Who am I trying to fool !!! I shall now disappear never to be seen again. Wish I'd built a yacht. By the way if you are building this ship you need a lazy Susan, it gets very heavy and cumbersome with the masts in place and you need to rotate it during the rigging. There is a photo of one one my last photo. Wish me luck chaps, it was nice knowing you all DAVID

Cheers Lawrence I was not not sure if it was the same ship as yours or not. But there is a great deal of detail on it. Good luck with your painting today. Thanks again. DAVID
