I did use West System epoxy.
And I very certain that's not the problem.
The hull doesn't show any cracks.
Am more convinced that is where hatches are and the vaselin in the rudder stock was old and not holding water out.

After some time in hiatus, I got my dear T37 back in the water some weeks ago.
However, when sailing with others I noticed my yacht started to get sluggish with the maneuvers.
When I got her back to the pier, I saw how low she was sitting in the water. And yes, I am glad I got her back in time.
There was a good quarter inch of water inside of her. Fortunate no electrical equipment got damaged.
So I have her back in the shop ripping some deck planks which was in need of replacement.
    New material has been ordered.
Removing epoxy glued parts is a pain and when sanding a good mask is in need.

She will also get new sails.

Removal of epoxy laid planks are a pain.
    But progress is there.
I learned something new today; applying a varnish or polyurethane to the wood is a good idea.
This allows the epoxy not to be dried out.
Once I have the false deck cleaned I will do so before the new planks are putting in.

Hoping to have a clean deck tomorrow Sunday.

Working on the deck mods at the moment, started by cutting out the molded in gratings and since I'm using a veneer deck I needed to build up the framework using misc styrene. The gratings are model shipways 33mm sq. 1mm unassembled and once the deck is glued down or before, I'll need to figure out where to cut the deck for the top rope falls and any other deck pieces besides the bitts and knightheads.

After numerous false starts, restarts, hesitations, and wasting time, I got the pieces partially glued together all the while measuring, remeasuring, checking and rechecking and still I had to do a bit of fudging to get it to this stage.

I discovered from photos of the underside of the trailboard taken during the 2015-17 restoration, there was a “support shelf” (my term) that is not shown on the kit plans or installed by anyone else that I could find sufficient details on. I did not find a US Navy plan of the trailboard rail construction. The last image shows two pieces of 3/64” x 3/16” basswood stock per side that will be used to create the “support shelf.”

It is not Pride of Baltimore. I see no sense in developing kits others have already done, even more so when it's a brand new range. I prefer to do stuff that hasn't been done thus far.

It was at that point that she discovered it was a casserole, not a pie. What can i say, it looked like a pie to me when I took it out of the freezer! So I said, "Don't blame me. Who bakes a pie at 120 degrees anyway?' And it went downhill from there...

Thanks for likes and comments! Always appreaciated 🙂
So, filler work continued in stern area. Since I hadn't drafted this part mostly due to lazyness all pieces were cut oversized.
First a copule of pictures for scale...

I especially like the second picture and the little fella with the torch. What also can be seen in the second picture is how even and nice all the filler pieces are.
Mine, not so much as we'll see shortly.
In the next picture starboard side is more or less roughly to shape. Port, as can be seen, is not started.

When both sides where filled and after some initial sanding with 60 and 100 grit paper I drew a bunch of waterlines to see the shape more clearly.
    Looks okay from this angle...

Not so much from this angle (see below) 😮
As the lines reveal the lady needs to loose some pounds from her rear end. (Do Not, I repeat, do Not say that to the Admiral!)
The lines should in a perfect world describe a nice arch and lines from both sides should meet att no more than 90 degrees to the centreline. Problematic areas are highlighted.

After even more sanding things are starting to look okay.

A bit wavy close to the centreline, but I put that in the bag for hard to reach areas when drawing the waterline.
Right side up and things are looking even better (yup, I'm biased).

Now over to the rabbet and planking can soon be started. Yay!
    Pax et bonum, friends!

Been awhile since I posted. I'm now working on #1 mast, #2 is almost finished, and 3, 4, 5 & 6 are done. Then it's the bowsprit and flags.
