Typical boat of Mediterranean Sea by IgorSky - BOTTLE - Scale 1/200 - Finished

Recommended Posts

Another of my small projects. I recently have seen the photo of the model boat, which was interesting me.

I have wrote to the author of the model and he told me that this boat is a typical for Sardinia the southern Mediterranean area Andalucia.

A couple of weeks ago I started building the model of this boats in a bottle.

Best Regards!

Igor.

Hi Igor,

I've never watched a ship in a bottle being made before so I'll follow along if you don't mind.  :)

The hull looks fantastic!

Cheers,

Nigel.

Great

New Bedford Whaleboat build. Kit by Model Shipways

I've been making progress on my model and according to the instruction booklet I should be painting it, at least parts of it.

Are acrylic's ok ? I did apply a sanding sealer. but I want to stain the untreated floor boards which are walnut.

Thanks

Hi Igor,

Love the furled sail and the rigging as well what I believe is the anchor in your last picture.

Can I ask if you using a microscope do to this work? I find things hard at 1:60 scale.....can't imagine doing all this in something that fits into a bottle!

Cheers,

Nigel.

Hey Igor. Congratulation. This became a really nice ship. I am not really sure, but I think I like it most of all the ships you posted so far. The proportions, the different woods, everything fits and looks nicely. When looking at it I get into mood to stop my current project of a 1:200 Flying Cloud and build a mini boat for bottling again. Lets see. Looking forward to see yours bottled. Regards. Harry

Igor,

That is beautiful and amazing.

You will have to slow down because I can't keep up with your work - it is so fast! :) :)
